for you religious people, 2 questions.
1. if got has a devine plan, why would god change it just because you want something to go your way or how you want?
2. When you pray and it doesnt get answered and you say its god's will, and when it is answered its god's will, so why bother even praying, why not just skip it and go straight to god's will?

ok im laughing, some of you make good points, others are just too trapt by your own logic to try and see another point of view. instead you only wish to press your logic and your beliefs onto others instead of actually answering the question. and the one that did catch my eye, parents are not like "god" you can make them break or give in just by asking a million times or giving them the puppy face.

We cannot understand God, we can try and understand the words He has left us. First of All, God is not bound by TIME, so you think that a Being that created time would bind himself by time?? a foolish thought.
The plan that God has is absolutely clear at the Global, Solar, Galaxial and Universe level. Each individual gets "rewarded" for what he strives to do .... good or bad. So, individually there is a lot of flexibility, and in each time period there is a lot of flexibility. The Punishment that is coming to Mankind cannot be averted and then the day of judgment cannot be averted. It is hard to explain these things to you until you read the Quran, Bible or Torah with thought and understanding.
He listens to ALL prayers, if you call on Him, He will listen ..... remember ..... His answers may take a while and sometimes you will be answered and given what you asked for without you even knowing ... the mysteries of this life are beyond the understanding of us mere mortals.
Peace be upon you.

Hi Wes. Let me adress question number one. God does not change his plans to fit our wants. If he did I would be a millionaire and would be retired and traveling the world at this very moment. He sticks totally to his plan and it will all come to pass as he says it will.
Secondly God always answers every prayer that a Christian prays. sometimes he just says no. That is hard for some people to accept so they say I prayed and prayed and God did not answer me. What they mean is that I prayed and prayed and God did not give me what I want. I am a hospice nurse and deal with death and dying every day. I have sat by the bedside of countless people while they passed from this life to the next. I have heard people say God didn't heal my mom, dad, sister, brother, child etc. I tell them as gently as possible that he did heal them by taking them out of this body and into heaven where there is no more pain and suffering. Many times when we pray we pray for selfish things and for selfish reasons. We do not pray that God's will be done. I recently had the honor and privilege of nursing my precious mother as she died from lung cancer. I prayed for God to take her and end the pain but I also prayed that he give me and my family the strength to bear her loss. By the way I do not consider my self religious as that word entails many different things. I am a Christian. We have no control over God's will only he does.

These are great questions! These two questions have been asked and discussed for ages. The Bible shows that God can "change" his mind or react to what we do and at the same time the Bible says that he's all powerful and all knowing.
1 - To know why God would change the outcome of something he had already decided is too hard for me to understand. The first problem for me is I can't begin to grasp the concept of knowing all things.
2 - I agree with what one of the posters said earlier that prayer has a way of changing us. As we seek God in prayer our motive and our hearts are revealed for what they are. Jesus even asked God to consider a different way than his crucifixation and said that if there is no other way then so be it. It helps me to remember that I'm asking out of my ignorance (what little I know) and God is answering out of his wisdom (he knows all things).
Hope this helps, I may have just confused myself even more after typing this! I find some comfort in the fact that people much smarter than I have tried to figure this out for centuries!
Cheers!

question 1 it will never happen . where talking about christianity not Wicca. god does not conformed to your plain how things should work or how they should turn out its the other way around . its god i am that i am will to be done and his way that its going to be done and in his time frame not in ours . question 2 when we pray god does answer all prays but not in the way we would all ways like them to be in or in the time frame . some will get answered in a way that you can notice right away and then there are those that get answered in days , months and in years . some answers have to be taught instead of just plainly being answered. here's a thought if you knew that someone is using you to get something that they wont and didn't really care about you would you give them what they want . or would you make them work a little bit harder to get what ever they wanted from you than someone that does love you truly.

Im Muslim.
Were taught to respect divine will from a very early age.
1.If God wants you to undergo something, either good or bad, no one can stop it, or hinder it from happening. Otherwise, were not informed about how God goes about doing this, just that when He desires it, theres nothing you could do to stop it.
2. When they teach us about prayer, they inform us that it is remembrance of the creator and thankfulness for all that you have. Prayers in Islam are used mainly for remembrance and asking for forgiveness. In the event that you have something mundane to ask for, there are certain rules that apply for it:
a. you mustve had a past that is already filled with prayer and remembrance of the creator. so if you werent a thankful person at all in your life, the likelihood of your prayers getting accepted is very small.
b. you must have complete faith in God, that if your specific mundane prayer is not accepted at that moment, that it will be accepted eventually.
c. you must be clean in the inside and on the outside for your prayers to be accepted. email me if u want to know exactly what this means.
Ive followed all of the above rules, and I have not a single prayer that has not been accepted.
:)
Im 28 years old. I believe am among the few people in the world who can say that so comfortably. But its the truth.
Thank you
Note: I do not believe that we cannot understand God, I believe we can understand the things He expects from us, and the way He responds to our behaviours. Because that is what a Just Creator would be like. And that is exactly how the Creator is like according to Islam.

God doesnt change His divine plan. His divine plan takes into consideration the human input. What humans do and dont do, changes the outcome.
Secondly dont think of prayers as just mere words. Praying is like an "effort" in spiritual sense, and more or less behaves in the same way as "physical effort". Just because you practice real hard for a big game, doesnt mean you are going to win, but it does however mean that you have more likelihood of winning.
Same goes for prayer.

1. God has a devine plan, but He listens to our prayers. If our prayers falls in the categories of His will, He answers them. He is omniscient and omnipotent. He knows the Past and sees the future. He knows what answering every prayer would do. Imagine if He answered every prayer!! Imagine if a parent of a child, granted that child's every wish----there would be caos. The child does not know what is really good for him or her. You may think you know what is good for you, but God sees a whole different matter simply because he can foresee things. Read the book of Daniel and Revelation to see this example.

These are questions you need to seriously get on your knees and ask God to answer. We are smaller than a grain of sand compared to the size of the earth, and the earth smaller than a grain of sand in the universe; I don't understand how being so small you can muster up the audacity to question God. Am I missing something here; are you the one we've been waiting for to be saved? I mean, why not? There have been many men who have come after Christ died to try and steal His being the Messiah; why not you too? I will leave you with this verse from God: " For if a man think himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself." (Gal 6:3). Your Brother In Christ.

God's plans don't change for people. They accomplish what He sets out to do.
Prayer not being answered? Maybe you are not doing it right? Prayer is designed as a conversation with your best friend. Are you always trying to get something out of your best friend? Why is he hanging around you then?
Since God doesn't NEED anything, what does He WANT? He wants His name made known to all the earth and His Kingdom established here on earth. Have we helped that today? Then we can ask about our NEEDS not wants.

You are forgetting that God knows all. He knows everything about everyone, and about all time.
He doesn't change things. Because God cannot learn anything, there is nothing to change. For instance, he knows what you want, even though you tell no one. He knows what you will pray for etc. And he gives these things to you *IF* you ask for them.
Now, would you ask a cardboard cutout for some food if you were hungry? Of course not. Because you don't think it will give you food. But if you have faith in Jesus, and pray for something thats not frivilous, he will give it to you. But don't think for one minute that he doesn't already know what is going on in the future.
We still have free will. We're not puppets, but God is all knowing, and he's omnipresent (meaning theres not one inch of space that he doesnt occupy with 100% of his presence).
And yes, if God has something planned out, but you want it your way, you need to understand that God can see the entire future, and he knows the outcomes. I think he's a better judge then any puny human being would be. And to that I say - God, may your will be done, and not mine.
