It's often very difficult to tell one rheumatologic disease from another, and the fact that steroids and anti-malarial drugs have been prescribed strongly suggests the appropriate tests have been done and will continue to be. But tests are not specific, and the clinical pattern is a large part of the diagnosis, which means that symptoms and specific diagnosis may change over time. Just as an example, it's quite possible to have a positive rheumatoid factor with systemic scleroderma. There's just no perfect answer. And you can add eyes to your list of worries. The possible long-term risks from the drugs will fill a book, and I'd suggest you survey several sites like WebMD as well as ongoing discussions with your rheumatologist.

All types of arthritis can be treated and cured by a very simple home remedy that has no side effects. The cartilage of the Chicken when powdered and taken daily improves and modifies human cartilage. This really works. When you eat a chicken or turkey leg The bits around the end of the bone that you have a tendency to leave are a little hard and not very appetizing but they hold the cure to arthritis. Try it You will be amazed. It works pretty fast as well.

I was diagnosed with RA in 1966. There were very few meds available then so I have had several major joints replaced. Now days there are wonderful meds like Enbrel available. All rheumatologists are not the same..please go to a major University or clinic and get the best care you can for this lifetime disease.

If you are having symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) your doctor will be able to diagnose it, as there are certain blood levels of something that will go up.
RA is a progressive degenerating disease with devastating consequences to the body. It can attack anywhere. Inform yourself and find a good rhuematologist.

My mother had RA for most of her adult life, she tried many different things to stop the progression, she found that prednizone worked the best for her, but her body became steroid dependent.
There has been alot of advancement in finding relief, and stopping the progression. I am of the understanding that there is not a cure, or a way to reverse the disease only to slow it.
Stay healthy, eat well and stay mobile the best you can and get with a doctor who has knowledge of RA, they are more likely to be considerate of your situation.
