They have hardened their hearts and will probably only mock and ridicule you.

There will come a time that every knee will bow down to God and know that he is real.

Why would I try that when every time I have been in need and asked my gods for help they have helped?

Especially as I tried that before, as an atheist, and got no help.

It's nonscientific nonsense. If I am thrown from a boat, I'm not going to turn from the lifeboat I have and cry out for one that I see no evidence for the existance of.

Did YOU try this? Did the person who saved you say "I am Jesus" or did he just look like images of Jesus?
You know those images of Jesus-Blue eyes, long hair, etc., are ALL depictions of the ancient and very real Greek gods, right?

If I don't believe in Jesus (and I don't), then why the hell would I pray to Jesus?

Anyway, the Muslims you're trying to talk to may pray to Allah, and their prayers may subsequently be "answered"- does that prove the existence and supremacy of Allah?

The Buddhist may engage in a specialized meditation with the object of resolving a certain problem, and obtain their desired result - does that prove that Buddha knew the True Path?

The atheist may analyze a problem logically, and deduce a plan of action that will allow him to master a given situation; following through, he may succeed - does that prove that no specific religious system is needed at all?

We have said such things. They might have not been those exact words, but the majority of atheists were once believers, and believe me, we have spent a lot of time in prayer. We have asked for Jesus's (or God's) help many a time in times of trouble. It hasn't worked in our past, and we don't anticipate it happening in our futures. We know what believers always say, "Sometimes you'll ask for something, and sometimes God will say yes. When you don't think your prayer hasn't been answered, it HAS been answered, God has just said 'No'."
I'm happy for you that you feel this works for you. If you think that, then by all means continue to do it. But please understand that we have come to the realization that it doesn't work. (At least not for us.) If it did work, then we wouldn't be atheists.

So basically keep repeating it to yourself until you believe it - I don't have that much time left in my life for that.

I do not believe human beings to be divine and that is what Jesus of Nazareth was and no amount of mumbling to myself in prayers which I do not believe in will change that.

Human beings are born with the intelligence and capacity to help themselves and each other and perhaps once people begin to realize that instead of relying on empty air then things will get better on this earth.

Cindy, bless your little heart: It would be so great if "words" worked like that. But they don't.

Hon, they have to really feel it and believe it in their heart even if they are down, and in order for some of these people to get that far down, it would have to be rock bottom.

I was going to email this to you instead of putting it out here, but since i couldn't, I felt it best to let you down easy.

You just keep right on praying for them and God Bless you.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." -- John 14:6 (NKJV)

"For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him." -- John 5:22,23 (NKJV)

"And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." -- John 17:3 (NKJV)

TO GOD BE THE GLORY...AMEN!

So, what you want us to do is wait until we're in a desparate situation then use that to indoctrinate us into your superstition. It is a common tactic of religion. It frequently preys on the weak who are desparate and more prone to look towards a superstition for help.

And in such an emotional state, a person might be much more prone to believe such nonsense.

One would think that a good god wouldn't need people to beg to him for him to help out. I find your suggestion disgusting.

The whole invisible sky chappie thing is a scam created by men who want to control others and don't want to work for a living; they're parasites.
Religion is the greatest sting of all time.
