I have a huge wall (cathedral ceilings) with a built in entertainment center which has shelving on both sides of a tv. Above our television we have a very large art niche - probably about 12 feet high by 6 feet wide. The previous owners had a custom tuscan mural painted in it but it is not our style so we are trying to come up with other ideas. The niche is framed by molding. Does anyone have any ideas of how to decorate this space or do you know of any websites w/ pictures or ideas? Thanks!

Okay, I've done some of the legwork for you. Below are listed some links to web sites that sell paintings. I chose a variety of inspirational ideas/themes. Check them out. Once you find a focal point you can either choose to let one or two paintings stand alone or ad other interesting artifacts to the grouping.

Have fun! It should be all about what inspires you!

Let yourself go with this. What is your art style? Select a painting or paintings to display or choose a sculpture piece to feature. Paint the interior of the niche a different color depending on what you are featuring inside. Have a mural painted that reflects your style.

There's this store called Art Gallery Outlet that has huge oil paintings (4' by 6') and awesome frames. They have a large selection, so you can choose your own style...you should check it out.

There are alot different things you can do in space like that. If you dont want paint try a wrought iron wall hanging I found mine at a store called dockside imports or even kirklands store. The only thing is they dont order on line but you can go online to see if there is a store near you. If no luck there, try typing in wrought iron wall hangings.
