I think they smile when they are happy!

Well... dogs DO smile, but not for the reason we do. They smile after they pant to keep all their breathe in there. Some dogs, like the Bulldog, seem as if they are always smiling. Dogs dont cry. The Besenji cant whine, either. Instead of using his special noise, they "smile". "Smile" for Besenjis is actually called "nosaparioosus." Not many people recognize, though, that these beautiful dogs, whether Mexican Hairless, or a fuzzy Sheepdog, all dogs are created unique, wonderfully, and beautifully. And, hey, some of them, if your lucky, can smile just to warm your heart, and make you smile for the rest of the day.

I would have NEVER believed that a dog could smile before. I've had people tell me that their dogs did and I didn't believe them. Then the other day I went into the store to grab a soda pop and when I came out my niece (who was in the car with my 1/2 Min Pin/ 1/2 Jack Russell) had taken a picture of my dog, Cujo, and I would swear on it that he was smiling. I was such a proud mom. I took the picture to work and showed it to all of the people at my start up meeting (I'm a group leader) it was so cute !!!

i think it can smile. i have two dogs and live with them more than 10 years , i find that when they were fed , gone out for playing or anything that is pleased to them , they very happy and express their feeling.

at that time the mounth of dog often open so we have feeling that they re smiling like human (when happiness , human also often smile) we maybe consider they smiling is also ok because they smile also nice , right?

Yes I use to have a doberman that people were so afraid of. If you ;approached her she would show her teeth. her ears were up and her whole body would wag as she had almost no tail. it was an ear to ear smile. She was the sweetest dog.
