In Australia we are soon to impliment the "Australian Residency Exam" which for us is a very simple multiple choice test, to determine an applicants knowledge and dedication to our way of life in order to gain Residency & Citizenship. I think it's a great idea, just like a "driving test" to determine their suitablity.Some of the Qustions are as simple as;

1) The colours of Australias National Flag are:
a) Green & Gold, b) Green, White & Gold c) Red, White & Blue d) Red & White ? Answer c) Red, White & Blue.

2) Aboriginals have inhabited Australian mainland for:
a) 1000 years, b) 10,000 years c), 20,000 years or d) 40,000 years ANSWER d) 40,000 years.

3) In Australia Men & Women are considered equal in all aspects of life ?
a) True, b) False, c) Not sure d) Never ? Answer a) True.

Pretty simple and a way to ward out undesirables after a six year Qualifying period.

Do any of you know what the process is in the US or anyone that has gone through the process.
You should inform yourself a little more before you add comments about something you don't know.

Yes they do ask questions like that in the US before you become a naturalized citizen.
e.g.
Who is the first president of the United States?
What year was the Declaration of Independence signed?
What is the 13th amendment?
