God is not necessary to live, love, laugh, cry... our consciousness exists... no holy book or religion required.

Crying has to do with emotions and those can be cause by many other thinks than religion. Science cannot explain the soul but then neither can those who believe it exists because there is no empirical proof showing that it does or does not exist - much like any deity.

I can have the full range of emotions without having a religion, and I can have them all also without thinking that it is a soul or deity that causes them. Human beings are emotional creatures with or without religion.

How strange that you would consider that the inexplicable must ipso facto be religious. Science runs on mysteries, and it tries to find explanations for them.

Just because we know that certain emotional responses cause water to come from our eyes doesn't make us less likely to experience it. Knowing that terror is a matter of adrenaline and ACTH doesn't make the experience less horrible.

Emotions are not supernatural: they are pieces of pre-programmed behaviour that arose in us because they help survival without thinking. When we're scared, we scream - and that alerts others to our plight and they may come and save us. When we're sad, we cry - and the tears show others that we're genuine and not faking it, so they will help us.

And finally - yes: science can explain your soul and your spirit. They're imaginary notions cooked up by people with no understanding of psychology. They're mistakes.

Science can certainly explain how people such as yourself can come up with the most idiotic posts such as this that reek of drivel. Would you like the explanation for your behavior? You will both cry and love it, in your soul and in your spirit.

Yes, its called the brain. If there is a god why do so many innocent babies and animals get brutalized and murdered everyday and most bad people just sail through life. If gods so powerful why can't he stop all the evil in this world. Its the brain that controls people not god or the devil. Its how people are raised. Luckily most people care but there is a thin line between love and hate.

The same reason your dog does. Loyalty leads to the species being more likely to survive. It is a product of evolution.

The soul and spirit aren't real. Tell me where it is or how you measure it and we can talk about the explanation for it.

Emotions are an essential survival tool. They have evolved with us as we have developed.

It is interesting that many of our modern problems arise because our emotions are still part of a self defence system which, as yet, has not evolved enough to cope with mass living.

Take anger - it is there to stop us from being abused unfortunatly it gets triggered because of pressures of the modern city.

Soul in Greek = psychie - where we get the word Psycholgy from. Please read the below...
