Did you know that the Prophet (PBUH) is heard to have said "Women are the twin halves of men?" Why have the extremists and those against womens' rights ignored this? He is also heard to have said that the best of men are those who are best to their wives. So why do so many men forget this? Why does culture reign over seeing their twin halves as their twin halves?

May Allahs Peace and Blessings Be Upon U my sister and Whole of Muslim Ummah,

I really dont understand this ?? Why cant men respect women,
Why dont they know that it is a sin to be harsh towards their spouse. I guess some cultures just promote this kind of attitude and believe it or not, the man's mother is usually the culprit ... If a guy tries to help her wife the mother of the man says: "Dont u act like a girl and help ur wife". Thats what my fathers mom said only few months after my moms wedding to dad ;( That kinda puts me off when I think of marrying anyone. I feel Indo-Pak culture has this kindof a thing....I also feel mostly, only a religious man can have a good relationship with his spouse.

EDIT: MashAllah Terry g> U are blessed Alhamdullillah may Allah add more love and respect between the both of u dear, Pray for me also thanks ;)

According to the Holy Qur'an, women are the human, intellectual, social, and spiritual equals of men. They are, indeed, the twin halves of men.

Those who are adamant that the Qur'an teaches women are inferior to men and/or that men are allowed to hit their wives hate Islam and they hate Muslims. They see what they want to see, and could care less about correct and accurate understanding. If they choose to die with all that hatred on their hearts, that's their decision. That's not the fault of Muslims.

Once again, all I can say is I am so blessed that I have a husband who knows and practices this. I am his equal in every way and we perfectly compliment one another. Alhemdulilah, I have a great husband and I am forever grateful.

For those of you who think Muslim men can hit their wives and treat them as inferiors, you obviously know little about Islam. I pray you will learn the truth and stop condemning a religion you so obviously know nothing about.

I agree with you sister.
As much as I Honor and respect my wife as much she returns my trust, Honor and love.
Some fields of life I depend upon her and others she depends upon me, so it equal in magnitude, with no difference, who is superior or inferior. As our goal and destinations of life are same so both are trying our best to achieve the joint targets jointly, with love, respect and Honor to each other.

According to the quran, women are inferior. Don't like it? Switch religions. Scared by this? Thumbs-down it.
