The term has come to refer to a person without sexual experience. In the past it was mainly used to refer to women with an intact hymen. It seems the usage has evolved over the years. But as the saying goes if you have to ask you probably are. Best of luck in the future.

it seems to have to do with NOT having had penetrative sex...
with a woman it signifies the breaking of the hymen...

Even if it didn't last but a moment, even if you didn't ejaculate or orgasm, even if you used protection, even if the hymen wasn't broken.
