Ships movement dates are classified and not released to the general public until 24 hours prior.
That being said, if you know who the OMBUDSMAN for the command is and you are a relative of someone onboard you can contact the OMBUDSMAN and she will most likely have the information.

IF you have a need to know, you will be notified well in advance. FAMILIES know when the ships will return. That's why they have so much time preparing for the welcome home ceremonies. When I was in Japan, if I wanted to know when a certain ship was coming "off line" in Viet Nam, I'd go to Yokosuka to 'honcho street' and ask a bar girl.
Spouses and family members on the ships let their families know when they'll be home.
If the ship left in April, add 6 months to that date and do the math. I still remember the NINE month cruises.
The base will not give out ships' arrivals anymore. You used to be able to call the base operator and a recorded message would give the arrival date. Since 9/11 it all ceased.

a ships return date is always kept secret except from family members until a few days ahead of time
there is probably still a ships arrival number for the base there.

You may call their Naval Station for information at (619)556-1011 and maybe they will give you this information if it is not being kept private for security reasons.

This falls under OPSEC and yahoo answers is not the place to discuss such things.
If you are family, then you will find out.
