A priest told me this. I've never been able to find it. Was he pulling my leg?

Well, I don't claim to be a priest, but I can share a bizarre, (but true) story: I once saw the 'end of the rainbow". As the bow came down, it touched on the car in front of mine. There was no pot of gold, but the car had a strange license tag:
YAH-4333...VA, exp. date:7/04! I could not manage to get a look at the driver.
After I recovered my wits (as this experience shook me up a bit) I researched the number: 4333 meant nothing, but
4.333 turns out to be 13/3. Trinity? Who knows.
.333 is the ratio of stars that were cast down to the Earth in Revelations. If 666 is really the number of the devil, how come .333 were cast down , who followed Satan in the rebellion? Taken together, they add up to a total of .999,
which is an upside-down .666! The ratio, here is 2/1, which is the factor of the mandatory restoration of a false witness in Leviticus. Jesus also made a strange claim about a factor of 2/1:

Luk 12:46 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not, and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the unfaithful. 'asunder' can be translated as 'in two', or 'in half'.
Here's some others:
Rev 9:18 By these three plagues was the third part of men killed, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone, which proceeded out of their mouths.
Eze 5:2 A third part shalt thou burn in the fire in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled; and thou shalt take a third part, and smite with the sword round about it; and a third part thou shalt scatter to the wind, and I will draw out a sword after them.
Zec 13:8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith Jehovah, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
Zec 13:9 And I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

It represents Father, Son , and Holy Spirit. 333 in the first manifestation expresses the mystery of God. The second manifestation of 333 indicates the nature of his creation
Divinity, Humanity, and Animality. 333 in the third manifestation expresses the mysery of the three persons which relates to the Blessed Trinity.

Though one should note that Trinity was a precept of man...381CE First Council of Constantinople drew up a dogmatic statement on the Trinity and defined Holy Spirit as having the same divinity expressed for the Son by the Council of Nicea 56 years earlier. Whish would defy the idoltry law in Deut 4:15-16 .

It is not actually written as such, most Christians believe in the Trinity and this is the significance of the number 3, three persons in the one Godhead, and as 3 represents the Godhead so too it represents each of the divine persons, so we arrive at the holy number 333, and this is juxtaposed against the number of the antichrist 666, the unholy number.
Satan tries to ape all that God does and it is suggested that in his pride he picks a higher number than the Godhead.

He's probably referring to the Bible verse Jeremiah 33:3 where God says "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." So you can take it that 333 is God's number. (Also, the morse code signal of S-O-S is made up of 3 dots, 3 dashes and 3 dots, so take it however you will)

I cannot find any reference to God being 333 only the Devil being 666, so he must only be half as bad...lol

I'm sure he was teasing you. It would be a good number for God because it reflects the trinity but all numbers belong to God.

Yeah, I think he was.

However there is the trinity. That means "3": God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit.
