Soak a wash cloth or other larger towel in white vinegar, then drape it gently across the burn...let it sit there for a short while, repeat where necessary until the burn has cooled. You're gonna stink because of the vinegar, but it is the quickest way I know of to soothe bad sunburns. Just light some incense or a scented candle nearby so it's not quite as bad.
Hope your burn goes away soon!

I don't burn as badly as white people do but I use aloe vera when I've been in the sun too long and my skin starts to turn red. I am quite fair on my chest and on my legs and I burn when I expose them to the sun. Aloe is good in healing and soothing skin and it is also good in preventing scar formation. All the best

If it's all over (like I did once - boy did that hurt!) I sat in a tub of very cool water to start off. Aloe works best to control the pain. Oddly enough, wet teabags also help with the sting if you don't have aloe. Good luck!

If you are over 16, take a couple aspirin. Not only does it ease the pain, the redness subsides somewhat.
