i often have well meaning christian friends come and trying to 'save' me by telling me all sorts of bizzare stories, ranging from earth is 6000 years old to a man (jesus) walked on water, how do i restrain myself from laughing so i don't offend their 'sincere' christian love? i 'm serious about this quesion as i REALLY can see their good heart and their view (but they can never see my view, how sad) and i know my theory of life has a higher chance of being right

Their view is a form of retardation. You wouldn't laugh at a learning disabled person, tr;ying to explain the origin of the world or their 'invisible buddy', right? So just feel sorry for them.

simple - us christians are really good at restraining from laughing when some poor schmuk tells us there is no God - even though we know there is cause we see him and talke to him everyday. there is more than one scientist who believes the earth isn't much older than 7 or 8,000 years, but atheists never want to check them out. As far as Jesus walking on water. Compare that to your hand. look at it.close it, openit, wiggle your fingers, scratch your head, shake hands, eat supper and clap for your kids tee ball game.

Can you really believe that such an incredible creation, (which can never be duplicated by man,) as the human hand just happened by coincidence or accident. It is a miracle in itself. if god can think of a hand to create, he can sure get some young guy to walk onwater.
Naw, I think my hand is so incredible, and beautiful that only a higher being could have designed, created and then given those hands an extra purpose - to be folded together in prayer - so don't sweat it. we laugh at you guys as much as you laugh at us. For your sakes, i hope you're right cause once we're on the other side, it might be too late.

What I do when someone tries to preach a religion to me and I have not asked for such information to be crammed down my throat, is I just say as politely as possible, I am not interested in hearing your testimony and I am not engaging in this conversation with you. I dont laugh at them, and I dont get mad, unless they wont respect that I dont want to hear what they say. This is better than laughing at someone or getting in an argument with them, especially if they are friends of yours. I generally consider discussing religion and politics to be somewhat impolite anyway.

I feel like getting knocked around, so have at it. I am a Christian who is amazed that you have that problem at all. You should be so logical that why could you possibly even amused at such remarks. And since you are so close-minded, I assume you have your head where the sun don't shine, so that should block out most of the truth.

In my opinion no one has the right to come around your house and try to convert you, if you don't believe your going to dislike people for invading your private space.

Last time someone came around my house and asked me "do you know who Jesus is?" i said "yes, he was a witch." I have not been bothered again.

I would never be so rude as to laugh in someone's face. I would, however, try very hard to change the subject.

Instead of laughing and appearing as a fool just say, pray for me.

Just be yourself. If you think it's funny, let it out, then say, "I'm sorry, I know this is important to you, but you have no idea how it sounds to someone who is not of your faith."

In the long run it may help them realize the absurdity of some of their beliefs.

You must either change the subject or find an excuse to go out.
