I want to claim for accidental damage on my insurance, if you have done this before what is the process? do they come out to look at the damaged things do they need proof of purchase ie reciepts, for example: i want to claim for my computer and TV my PC cost me £1000 2 yrs ago and my TV cost £300 5yrs ago, would i get all of this back? need some light shead on this issue any suggetsions welcome. thankyou

you will need some proof of the loss. Your settlement will depend on your replacement clause. If you have replacement cost coverage you will be able to replace with like kind and quality. There may be some deduction on those type items as technologiclly computers and TV's have imploved since 2 and 5 years ago.
Normally losses as you describe are handled without physical inspection.
