My credit score is a 575. The first dealer I went to two days ago was to buy a 2004 Nissan Maxima for $21,000. My down payment was of $1,100. They told me that it was too expensive for me and that they could only sell me a vehicle under $17,000 they showed me a Honda Accord and a Honda Civic (I hate Hondas), a Nissan Altima (I like the Maxima's but I hate the Altimas, I only like the '07 Altimas), Mitsubishi Eclipse (I hate Mitsubishi), a Chevy Malibu (I only like Chevy trucks and Corvettes), and an Acura RSX (I like Acura's but hate the RSX). The finance manager told me that I wanted to have the taste of champagne on a beer budget, hahaha. Then yesterday I went the Nissan dealer, checked out a used Maxima's and the guy tells me since you are a first time buyer, you would probably only qualify for Nissan Sentra (are you f'in kidding me????). He says I just don't want to waste your time. As we are leaving another salesperson approached us (he seemed more motivated).

So the guy runs my credit and he since you're credit is so-so and you have very little credit activity. He tells me that I would need at least $7,000 dollars down to purchase a 2007 Nissan Altima at $25,000. Then he claims that played with the numbers and said that somebody like me can only qualify for a vehicle that ranges from $7,000 to $10,000..........are you kidding me, that would be a piece of crap!!!!! Funny because when I had asked a question of dealers doing what they wanted, not what the customer desired yesterday. Somebody told me that I would only be approved for a vehicle ranging from $7,000 to $10,000. Well late yesterday I purchased a 2006 Ford Mustang for $20,000....Without any co-signers, just ME, that's right ME. The car is completely under my name and I was approved instantly w/ no hassles and I only put $1,500 down. Previously when I had a lower credit score I had was approved for a $25,000 vehicle / $2,000 down. Goes to show you it can be done. Jokes on you buddy!!

Obviously, you don't know what you are talking about. : I hate Hondas...I like the Maxima but hate the Altimas I only like the 07 Altimas...I only like Chevy trucks and Corvettes ...I like Acuras but hate the RSX....

WHAT?>>>>>"Only" means exclusively! You can't "only" like the 07 Altimas AND Chevy trucks AND Corvettes.

Plus dumb@ss~ACURA is made by HONDA~it is their luxury line~

OK, but what is the interest rate you were hit with and how much are your payments?? The joke may really be on YOU, my friend. You found a dealer who had access to financing for riskier buyers and from what you describe that fits you to a 'T'. A 575 credit score is 100 points below the national average and well into 'B' paper territory.

Just as importantly, you probably overpaid for the Mustang. A 2006 'Stang with a V-6 will run quite a bit less than $20,000. Not sure if it's $12,000 as another poster said, but $16,000 to $17,000 would be reasonable.

So, you overpaid for a used Mustang and probably got ripped off on the financing as well. And you're bragging about that?? I don't get it!

You are right about one thing though. Even though 2 or 3 dealers actually tried to keep you from screwing yourself, you finally found one who was more than willing to. Did you at least get kissed when they effed you??

I'm laughing now!!! You said in your other question that your income is only 2k per month, you bought a way too expensive car for yourself, and got hosed to boot.

You asked the other question and got some good answers and advise, you should have gone with a less expensive car, one that you can afford.

Your acting like you got something over on us. I can get just about anybody bought on just about anything they want. Doesn't mean that is the right thing to do, but it's possible. You met an unscrupulous dealer that didn't care whether or not you could really afford this, lets' see what happens in 2-3 years.

Talk about putting lipstick on a pig!

I guarantee the dealer "played with the numbers" including your income, time on job etc.

Ditto what the other posters have stated. Add me to ones who are laughing now. I'll watch for your question and request for help after the repo. My money's on 6 months.

Oh yeah, one more thing. I noticed you posted this on Sunday. Lenders usually don't give decisions, especially on sub prime business, over the weekend. They want to verify job info, etc. If you are still driving the Mustang this Friday, I'll be surprised.

i don`t really see what your`e bragging about... are you proud of your poor credit rating ? you don`t like Hondas but you like Acuras... don`t you know that Acuras are just dressed up Hondas ? in fact in Europe there is no Acura, they sell everything as Honda...

you really though you got a bargain with the Mustang ? 20k ? if you look really hard 2006 Mustangs can be had for 12k...

back to your question... you asked who`s laughing now ? i bet everybody who`s reading your column is laughing...
