This party can solve many of the countries problems by allowing us to make our own decisions. Here is a link to the worlds smallest political quiz. I am a Libertarian. How do you all score?

Tamm, I scored at the very top of the diamond years ago. I think I have actually been there since I was around six but the quiz didnt exist back then. I was totally different from my parents and siblings. This leads me to two conclusions when trying to answer your questions and only one single answer.

Conclusion one: you are born this way and should stay like this

Conclusion two: 99 percent of the people dont know they are born this way

How to fix the problem - education.

People dont know the libertarian party because they are taught the current two party system. They are also taught that any third party is not a real contender. So, while they believe in the third party, they will cast a vote for one of th eother two parties because they are taught the vote for the third party is a wasted vote.

If everyone actually voted their conscience we woudl already have a third party in office and the other two parties would take a back seat once the country sees what the third party would do.

While reps and dems parties all preach about how they would govern and control your life, the libertarian party preaches how you should govern yourself. OMG, what a thought, make my own choices and be responsible for the outcome.

If the libertarian party wants people to know about the libertarian party then the libertarian party needs to educate the general populist about itself. It will be an uphill battle. People are not going to vote for something they have been taught is stupid or wrong. The libertarian party will need to overcome that stigmata before people will learn on a mass scale.

So, what have you done today to help educate those less fortunate then yourself on where they stand? Have you joined your local libertarian party? Have you handed out the quiz? How about an OPH booth where people can take the quiz and then register once they find out they are libertarians?

The mass media refuse to report on the Libertarian Party, like other third parties, on the grounds that "no one has heard of them". But "no one has heard of them" because the mass media refuse to report on them. It's a vicious circle.

Further, the mass media are owned and operated by large corporations, who are run by elites that coincide with the elites in the Democratic and Republican parties. The Democratic and Republican parties therefore share the concerns and viewpoints of these elites, and it is in their self-interest to report on them and not on third parties. So the Libertarian Party and other third parties do not make it through the mass media filter.

Finally, just look at the way that the mass media have reported on Ron Paul (now a Republican, but really a libertarian and former Libertarian Party presidential candidate) recently. The distortion of his views and consequent marginalization is grotesque.

Probably because it is hard for a third party to get noticed when the Democrat and Republican party are portrayed as the only partys
