Hello there.I've got bodywide osteoarthritis including neck problems like yours.I do strongly urge you to visit your GP and ask him for a referral for an x-ray to see what is going on. It may also be prudent to see if the GP could arrange an appointment with an Rheumatologist afterwards for a full body check along with a full range of blood-tests if there is anything wrong that may affect your joints. If you do have the onset of arthritis,it is very important to determine what type of arthritis - there are 200 types of arthritis - you have. Please don't be alarmed too much! Once you have a diagnosis, you may like to consider treatment by a qualified Osteopath or Chiropractor as neither of these treatments are availble on the NHS. I really do wish you well and a successful outcome to your problems. All the very best, Alan L.

It is very unlikely you have arthritis, i have arthritis and it can be very painful. It sounds like you have a problem with one of the joints in the neck and need treatment as it may not get better on its on. See your doctor who can access the problem and get you treatment for it, don't leave it as the condition may worsen, the neck wont get better on its own because it supports the weight of the head so it is difficult to rest it.
Hope this helps

Hi there you could have arthritis the only way to find out for definate is to ask your doc for a blood test .The blood test will tell you if you are sero negative or sero positive. If you find you have arthritis then you can get the correct treatment for it.If you havent got it then the doc will beable to refer you to a physiotherapist to find out if its a disc or some other kind of twist or strain.

Sounds very much like "Spondylosis"
( don't worry not life threatening ). Type Spondylosis in any search engine and lots of information is to hand.
I believe in severe cases it may require a small operation to the spine area although my doctor treats mine with "Volterol Cream".
The pain seems to get worse during the night.
Hope this helps

My b/f has the EXACT SAME THING! He just went to the doc and had x-rays & an MRI. Both did NOT show a herniated disc...instead, his doc diagnosed it as arthritis. However, you should still see your own doc just to confirm and possibly receive treatment.

No, it's not Arthritis.
It may have different causes. Lack of exercise and lubricant, excessive acidity and heat are ptominent.
YOG will solve your problem.
If you like you can go for Acupuncture.

You may want to see your Dr. about this. My ex-wife had a problem with her spine. I could get behind her when she was in pain and put my arms around her chest and pull her up fast. Her back would "POP". This could be your problem, only in your neck since it does the same thing.

arthritis happens in joints, such as hands, legs, etc.
you have a herniated disc in the neck area, that is why you can feel the pain
doctors can do an x-ray to confirm or reject the hypothesis
