I am looking for the Quranic verses that talk about Muslims doing things that non Muslims do (i.e. celebrating non Islamic social events and cultural trends) and thus becoming like them (i.e. non-Muslims), can anyone please help me find these, any help will be appreciated.

Those with no proper answers, please refrain from unpleasent remarks, thank you

5:51 O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.

As the Lawrence of Arabia said, there are no such verses. Thus we find no prohibition in doing so. Remember that the culture of Islam does not force you to leave your own cultures, for Islam is for the entire world and not only a small portion of it. I hope this helps brother. Peace upon you

Well, this one is used to keep people from associating with others:
Sura (9:23) - "O ye who believe! Choose not your fathers nor your brethren for friends if they take pleasure in disbelief rather than faith. Whoso of you taketh them for friends, such are wrong-doers"

I don't have my Index on me, but I know the one you are talking about..However it is kind of vague. I think the main istruction comes from haditha.
But check in the Median verses, I think it is in there.

Too bad more muslims don't share your outl look, and I wish they did. Any time I ever wished one of my muslim friends a happy "fill in secular or non muslim holiday" they woudl get a curt look and say, "I'm muslim, we don't celebrate those"....so please try and let your brothers and sisters know it is ok, because the imans who disagree with you are winning...please, good luck, and peace

there are no such verses brother.. only a Hadith preventing men from "Acting like women" and women from "Acting like men" in clothing, hair cuts and stuff... Omar Celebrated the Christmas with the Pope when he conquered Egypt.. So did Salahuldien.. his whole Muslim army Celebrated Christmas at Jerusalem for the sake of "Eissa Al Awam" a Christian Soldier in his army....

as the first two told you.... they are in Hadith.
Islam never prevented us from sharing or celebrating with non-muslims their events or cultural trends.
