If you parents were in the American military then you are a citizen of the USA. Nothing special about it. You do not have dual citizenship in the USA and Germany. Both parents were USA citizens, You are an American. You can always get a German citizenship if you live in Germany and perhaps you can keep both citizenships?

If your parents are Americans and are living in Germany legally at the time of your birth, you can ask to be German if you live in Germany upto the age of 18 without changing your main residence from Germany. For futher info you may contact the German embassy of your present place of residence. I think the age was brought down to 8 years during the parlementary debate of 1998 in which dual nationalities was approved for Germans. Before this date you were either German or not.

No, both of your parents would have be German citizens for you to be considerd German. You are still an "outlander" and always will be. Unlike in America where we offer citizenship to immigrants, Germany, and alot of other countries don't.

My Friend has triple citizenship....
Born in UK to a US Dad in the army and his mother was Danish. He has US, UK and Danish Citizenship.

But has to choose his primary citizenship when he turned 18 as far as Danish was concerned.

no you were probably born in a military hospital on a U.S. military base, which would make you born on U.S soil and therefore a citizen both because your parents were citizens and because you were born on U.S. soil... even if you were technically in Germany... sorry to disappoint you!

no, you do not. most likely scenario is that you were born on the US base in Germany, which is considered US soil.
