I live in Seoul, in Yunhee-dong, near Yonsei University and I love it! I am an American and moved here with my family 2 year ago. Just about every younger Korean speaks some english and nearly every war generation/older person has some basic english. I have basic Korean down, to eat ad direct a taxi or bargain, and I get around fine.
Koreans are very hospitable, generous and loving towards children. The subway and bus system is efficient and easy to navigate.
The cultural opportunities in a country that is growing like Korea are amazing. Everyday in Seoul is diferent.. the shops and restauants and opportunities are changing weekly as new ideas take form here.
Korea is truly dynamic and fascinating to watch bloom.

Seoul's a lot of fun... but very expensive.
Great museums, restaurants and night clubs. And the best shopping ever!

That's great but most of the people don't understand english. Bring an interpreter with you or try to learn some basic korean words. If you go to some restaurants without stating the price, be carefull coz they will give higher (might be double) price for foreigners!
