Nope.....the maxima has a v6 that is mounted sideways while the skyline has a strait 6 cylinder. Just to get the engine to fit would take 10k and then another 60k to figure out how to get everythin else connected, not to mention buying a entire new frame to route either rearwheel drive or a 4 wheel drive system.

Just slap the stillen supercharger and the MEVI varable intake on your maxima and pretend it is a Skyline....K!

I'm assuming your talking about the VQ35, which I'm pretty sure is longitudinally mounted in the skyline, the motor in your maxima is laterally mounted (This is a big indicator that the swap will take vast amounts of money and fabrication to work, and is generally not worth your time). Although the VQ35 is an option in just about every car Nissan makes, the time and money invested for the swap would probably be more than just purchasing a newer vehicle with the VQ35. And if you did mean the RB26, its a similar story, not worth your time.

Wooah! there super technician. All the conversions auto to manual not the same sub frame or even the hole the shifter comes out of the floor plus pedals and clutch lines engine controls and more modifications that will keep old trusty MAX in the shop for a year to sort out if it ever runs again. Let's be honest a 12 year old maxima really is not the hot rod legions are made of. And a stock 5 speed front wheel drive gear box probably won't keep up with the torque and torque steer into the ditch if you get it running.

Legions? I hope you dont get any. And Maxima, it is legendary. I don't know the answer to your question specifically, but if they can fit the VQ35DE motor in the bay of a '78 280Z, im pretty sure the VQ35 will fit in place of the VQ30 in your Max. Check the forums in Nicoclub.com, I get a lot of my answers there.

Let's split this up...

1) Do you mean V35? I've never heard of an r35. You might be able to squeeze it in, but i'm pretty sure you'd have to drop some cash.

2) If you mean RB26...

Well, let's not go there.

you talkin bout a rb26dett or the vq35de? either one is gonna cost you over 6k for then engine and i dout it'll fit to ur trany and still fit in the enginebay. you could do it but it would cost way to much. the rb26dett usualy makes like 280hp stock but is detuned and some have seen over 300 on a dyno

Anything motor can fit in any car, but I bet you dont have enough cash to get the job done. why would you want to do that to a celica anyway.
