Anyway, Im not gonna get into why he's there, but he truly is a great guy who made a mistake that treats me well.
He is not a bad guy.
ANYWAY, he is in jail for 8 months, to a year, and befor ehe went in I told him I was gonna wait for him, and NEVER cheat, I made a commitment to him.
EVERYONE keeps telling me, "You can't expect him to wait for you that long with no sex..he got himself in there in the first place",
Yes I believe that is true, but I also believe I made a commitment to him before he went into jail, I don't wanna do anything with anybody EVER, and YES I am waiting, but don't you think I am right?
That I made a choice to wait BEFORE he went in, therefore shouldn't break it?

I've been in your shoes a few times and if you are truly committed to him 1 year is really not a long time. It helps time go by faster when you keep writing him and visiting him. Lets say someone just so happens to come along while he is in jail you'll find yourself comparing the men. Also if you stay committed it saves your man who is locked up with his insecurity's.You are only as good as your word. If you can't stay committed tell him as soon as it happens.Don't hid it from him. Good luck!

Well... Actually I think it's real good that you're waiting for him. But the question is HONEY will he wait on you if you was in jail? Think about that!!!! I mean it's good that you made a commitment to him. But how long is he going to be in jail? You can't wait forever. Life goes on. There's more fish in the sea honey child. BELIEVE ME!!! You can still care about him and love him, but to tell you the truth if I know my boyfriend is going to be in jail for awhile. I might just move on. Like I said in the first time you can wait if you want to. BUT YOU NEED TO ASK HIM "BABY IF I WAS IN JAIL FOR A WHILE WOULD YOU WAIT ON ME?

Too many people will tell you you can't live without sex, and they are wrong. It isn't essential to living to have sex, and self satisfaction is always an alternative. The real rarity today is committment, the kind that truely involves self control. So good on you for making that committment. If you truely believe he's worth waiting for, then wait faithfully. Otherwise move on.

Ok I dont want to be mean but what are you thinking? I know that you wrote this so that you could get reinforment in what you want to belive about him, but you gotta think about it this way. He is no good, if he cared about you at all he wouldnt have done what he did that got himself landed in jail in the first place. mistake or not. He didnt think and thus that leads me to belive that he will not put you first. Just trust me. Leave him while you can before he gets out and gets you pregant and goes back to jail. Its not a life you want for yourself.

follow your heart...dont listen to the people around you...if you really wanna be with this guy and wait for him then do it. but you should think about weather or not you guys have the trust and everything like that before you start waiting. cause its basically gonna be like a long distance relationship.
good luck!

Is this guy the best you can get? Get out of the hood and meet someone else. This guy has problems and he will always bring you down. Will he cheat on you in prison? Look out and remember why sisters have the highest HIV rate. Hood rat brothers hitting booty in jails and give to there girlfriends and wives.

did your boyfriend affirm these feelings and that you had a future in him? I'm not saying you should leave, if you guys aren't the type to talk, that is fine, if you are the type then you should talk. I think that is wise of you to wait. but you can't believe anything a man says anyway.....

Well, I think its very honest of you to wait for him - it shows that you take this relationship seriously, which is very good, compared to some of the other types of girls I have met who don't know the meaning of committment. If you feel this is the right thing to do (and I think its lovely of you), and he is worth the wait, then don't listen to other people - listen to yourself and stay that way.
