Bicycling iis wonderful excercise. It gives you great leg muscles, aerobic excercise, and a very calming effect on the mind. Next to swimming, it's my favorite. I found my stamina improved, and it is so fun to explore bike trails, and get to see scenery you might not ever gotten to experience otherwse. There are lots of bicycle groups so you develope a good social group. It's a very positve form of excercise. Only recommendation I can give you is to buy a great bike from reputable shop and make sure it is fitted for you. Tell them any physical problems you may have, and where you are most interestd in riding. there are mountain bikes, etc. I purchased a hybrid bike so I am able to go on a wide variety of trails. I have back problems so I made sure I had really good shock absorbers. Then have thim fit it to you so you're very comfortable while riding. Also invest in a helmet and gloves, those really save you hands. A pair of good shorts with padded seats are worth it too. We love our bikes, and have gotten in great shape and lost weight. Good luck, hope you get one, you will so enjoy it!

Yes, cycling is great, it builds good toned quads/hams (legs) and provides also a good workout. Also, if you go on a exercise bike in the gym, as long as you keep up the tempo, you can read magazines, watch the Tv (if your gym has one) with no problem whatsoever. Cycling is especially good for overweight people, sitting down -cycling- takes all of the pressure off of your ankles.
