The Holy Quran says 'This similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam: He created him from dust then said to him: "Be" and he was.(3:59).
Yes the similitude in creation of Jesus who had no father is that of Adam. Adam was created from dust with no either parents. As far as our physical bodies are concerned they are mere earthly dust (we all know now the exact mineral contents of our body). In Allah's sight Jesus Christ was a dust as Adam was or Humanity is. The greatness of Jesus rose from His devine command 'Be' for after that he was more than a dust. a great Prophet and a teacher.

really, honestly, i think that you need to talk to a religous leader or someone who has a deeper understanding of the Qur'an like an Imam. This is just because, he will have a complete understanding, and thus you will get a more complete answer than probably most people can supply. Sometimes when things are taken out of context they lose their meaning.
If you do get the chance, please post as a comment, I'd love to find out for myself too.

You really should cite the verses are you are referring too.
3:59 says, "Verily, the likeness of Jesus before Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be!"-and he was."
Alhumdulilah, things are so clear really. Mankind was created from elements of the earth, dust and water. Adam was the first of mankind. After the creation of mankind the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve began to multiply in the way that Allah created for mankind to procreate...as we do now :)

Glorious Lord Christ: the divine influence secretly diffused and active in the depths of matter, and the dazzling center where all the innumerable fibers of the manifold meet; power as implacable as the world and as warm as life; you whose forehead is of the whiteness of snow, whose eyes are of fire, and whose feet are brighter than molten gold; you whose hands imprison the stars; you who are the first and the a last, the living and the dead and the risen again; you who gather into your exuberant unity every beauty, every affinity every energy; every mode of existence, it is you to whom my being cried out with a desire as vast as the universe, "In truth you are my Lord and my God."

all creatures are created from Dust.. This doesn't mean it literally.. It means "from earth materials" like salts, minerals and water.. even children in wombs, as composed by their Mother's body.. there is no contradiction between both...

probably both... kind of like how Christians believe that jesus was god, but also the son of god, and they believe we're god's children, but then say jesus was god's only son...
