As humans continue to develop greater tools and our knowledge and understanding of the world on which we live and the universe around us grows, more evidence is discovered that disproves the beliefs that so many hold sacred.

Every picture of Adam and Eve portrays them as white, yet evidence shows that mankind first evolved in Africa where everyone was black.

God told Noah to build an ark to transport two of every animal, yet there are many thousands of species. The ark would have to have been the size of a small country. Oh, and where did they store the food for the animals to eat? Would there not have been additional animals to feed the carnivores? How many humans had to be on board to clean up all the mess?

Now, as that story is obviously false, how many other stories from the Bible are false? What can truly be believed?

If people believed more in fact than in fiction, perhaps religion would be unecessary and we could set aside such calamitous differences.

Religion does not explain the physical world...that's science's job. Religion fills the void of what we do not know...what we do not understand. And it helps to explain spiritual experiences and occurances that science has said it cannot currently test using the scientific method. It's not to say that there are not people who make religion into science or science into religion, but that is a mistake because both serve valuable roles for humanity. To read a story such as Noah's Ark as factual and miss all the subtle symbolism....to focus just on the facts as if they actually happened rather than to focus on the message of the story, what it is telling us about how we live or our relationship to something greater than ourselves (call it God or something else). Then you miss the reason the story has been told and survive for generations. Myths are wonderful things full of symbolism that help to explain lessons on the art of living. What is the overall message of Noah's Ark? What is the symbolism of the animals that are used in the story (versus others)? What is the symbolism of the ark? What does the name Noah mean....symbolize? When the myth was first told the hearers would have fully understood the deeper layers of the story. As it passed into other cultures those cultures missed those layers, but the greater message remained. When I was a practicing Christian I'll admit that I never gave it much thought with the story. When I adopted Hinduism as my religion I had to learn a lot about Indian culture, modern and ancient, to understand the many layers in the mythological stories. I understood the big message. I got that point, but there were so many elements that seemed so trivial. Why mention things that didn't seem relevant? Why state the exact color of something that wouldn't be mentioned again in the story? Well it turns out all that is also symbolism and the symbolism leads to deeper layers of meaning which lead to mini-messages/points that are being conveyed within the story itself which then makes the greater message even more deeper.....more understandable to even us today. But that's a lesson I learned on my own.

One: Nothing has been disproven, except in the minds of people who don't know nothing.

Two: That's pathetic: you're an atheist scientific genius, who believes in Adam and Eve. So they were not white. So what? Are the ;pictures of the Panda Bears all right?

Three: Your Noah facts are all wrong. Check it yourself; preferably before you start broadcasting them -- someone might believe you. Very small problem for someone who packed the whole universe into two protons and a neuton Mr. Science. Hello, you did not prove them false; only yourself. Why do you illiterates want to tackle this stuff?

Four: Nice summation. Totally, stupid as one would expect. You probably won't be able to read it, but I'll ask you, What is eternity over 70? That's how long your "calamitous differences" are going to last.

Answering this could be a conundrum. But let me say that the Bible is not specific about details and history which is not pertinent to its sole message and that is, 'Belief in Jesus Christ for salvation'. The errors could have been easily corrected and rectified in the 16th century when translations into major world languages began. But God would not allow it, so they remain. God is an enigma and will always remain one. Human wisdom and power pale in comparison before God. They are puny, a mere speck in the vast firmament of the universe and the unknown.

The Bible's basis is belief in the unseen or 'a-factual'. Man's fundas lie in the seen or factual. If man could have relied only on the factual, there would be no necessity to worry about the unknown, then why the worry? Why is there fear even in the most stoutest heart? Many questions my friend. No answers. Theorise if you may but you must believe that this orderly universe did not suddenly spring up one day even if there was a big bang. For without controlling Power, there must be entropy? But the universe is well ordained and we know it is. that's because there is a higher power exercising authority. That Power we call God.

God has His ways and He is not answerable to anyone. He is supreme and is not swayed by what His creation thinks or does. He does what He has to but He tolerates us.

Seek Him in His Son through the Bible and you will live. Thats a guarantee.

It's happening as we "speak"! Science-driven atheism has gone from a trickle in 1860 to Hundreds of Millions now...

We have the ToE, Big Bang Cosmology and much more. The upshot is that we’ve gone from relatively few to huge numbers in less than 150 years. We find (roughly) the percentages of Atheism for certain countries: Vietnam – 81%, Sweden - ~65%, Denmark – ~65%, Norway – ~64%, Japan – ~65%, the Czech Republic – ~58%, Finland – ~51%, and so on. China has ~150,000,000 atheists, while Russia has ~44,000,000, Germany has ~36,000,000, France has ~28,000,000, the U.K. has ~22,000,000 and even little Canada has ~8,000,000 atheists (lots more of course). There are up to 26,000,000 atheists in the States. Given these numbers and associated growth, it becomes apparent that atheism is just thriving. Hopefully, the current trend will even accelerate!

No, Truth is nothing to fear, so there is no reason for a Christian to fear good science. Learning more about the way God constructed our universe helps all of mankind appreciate the wonder of creation. Expanding our knowledge helps us to combat disease, ignorance, and misunderstanding. However, there is danger when scientists hold their faith in human logic above faith in our Creator. These persons are no different from anyone devoted to a religion; they have chosen faith in man and will find facts to defend that faith.

Still, the most rational scientists, even those who refuse to believe in God, admit to a lack of completeness in our understanding of the universe. They will admit that neither God nor the Bible can be proved or disproved by science, just as many of their favorite theories ultimately cannot be proved or disproved. Science is meant to be a truly neutral discipline, seeking only the truth, not furtherance of an agenda.

Much of science supports the existence and work of God. Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” As modern science discovers more about the universe, we find more evidence of creation. The amazing complexity and replication of DNA, the intricate and interlocking laws of physics, and the absolute harmony of conditions and chemistry here on earth all serve to support the message of the Bible. A Christian should embrace science that seeks the truth, but reject the “priests of science” who put human knowledge above God.

what evidence??? Oh, you mean scientific speculation, which is all it is....If the Noah's arc story is false....do you know how long it took to build it.....YEARS, that's gonna be a pretty big boat....Do you know where it landed.....Mount Ararat in Turkey, where they had discovered evidence to prove the ark's existence and the Turkish gov't has closed the site off!!!! Why? Because morons like you don't need to understand the truth because you can't handle the truth! Science is a religion too you fool! It's a humanist religion where man doesn't need a God because he's become on with esoteric/arcane knowledge....it's the lie of the serpent in the garden of eden!!

I have yet to read a book by a scientist who is trying to disprove God. I have, however, read several books by scientists that REFUTE the work of other scientists that are attempting to prove the existence of God with science. That inculdes Dawkins, Stenger and others. I am afraid your point is mistaken. People try to use science to prove god exists, but the scientists simply show that these people have an incomplete understanding of what they are claiming, and that the science actually doesnt prove God exists. Not that it disproves his existence, but that it fails to prove it. Surely even you can understand the difference in that?

Religion was completely replaced by reason around the time of the American Revolution. Judaism, Christianity and Islam have been kept around because they are politically useful and provide handsome incomes for powerful authority figures. like the pope.

My favorite book about religion in general and Christianity in particular is 'The Age of Reason' by Thomas Paine.

Tell that to the 66% of scientists and 76% of doctors that believe in God. Tell that to all the scientists and mathematicans in the past who were believers. Obviously believing in God is not an obstacle to scientific endeavors. It is painful that those who are not truth seekers themselves, neither of God nor science, always come forth with these opinions about what they know nothing about.
