I apologize for its length in explaining.

Although they are the majority that sneak across the border from the south, and hide in the shadows, my issue is with all illegals. The reason the big discussion on Immigration Reform, and building a fence to protect along the U.S/Mexico border and not Canada - is because Mexico is such a corrupt country.

Not to insult you or others, but please tell me where you get your information that they work for less than minimum wage? I've been hearing from farmers across the nation that they are paying $9.00 and up hourly, and their fields of fruits and vegetables are still rotting away because they don't have enough of legal and illegals hired and working the fields. When I was growing up we got paid a little more than a few cents an hour to pick the fields. Sometimes that for the whole day working in the fields. That was just 30 years ago. At those wages one can imagine why Americans wouldn't demean themselves for a farmers profits, and began quiting those jobs. Minimum wages were now coming into effect, so Americans went where the money was being paid best. Now immigrants (both legal and illegal) work the fields at a better wage rate than minimum wage is in most States across the nation including mine which is one of the highest for minimum wages paid. And they are not coming by the thousands, they are coming by the millions.

The speech that Theodore Roosevelt had done was in 1917, and went like this.

"From the melting pot of life in this free land all men and woman of all nations who come hither emerge as Americans and nothing else. They must have renounced completely and without reserve all allegiance to the land from which they or their forefathers came. And it is a binding duty on every citizen of this country in every important crisis to act solidly with all his fellow Americans, having regard only to the honor and interest of America, treating every other nation purely on its conduct in that crisis, without reference to his ancestral predilections or antipathies. If he does not act, he is false to the teachings and lives of Washington and Lincoln; he is not entitled to any part or lot in our country and he should be sent out of it." (Theodore Roosevelt, "The Children of the Crucible" New York, Sept. 9, 1917)

(Something our politicians need to do all the time. All others (non-legals, pro-amnesty, and pro-illegals) need not apply, and have no claim to the true meaning, or the dream.

So true diversity is about all other nations men and women who come here to emerge as Americans and nothing else. They must have renounced completely and without reserve all allegiance to the land from which they or their forefathers came. (This does not mean who they are or from where they came.) But they do have to become American citizens and believe in American culture, language, Bills/Laws, the American way. Or at least learn them, and abide by them. But more importantly... They must be willing to fight to keep this country intact as America, for American citizens born or naturalized. Not fight against it to change it merely because illegals chose not to follow the laws/rules as the others have done before them. Or hang on to their silly notions that America was once their lands. And they are only taking it back because it was taken from them.)

So technically based on those who are traitors to this country, according to Roosevelts speech (including our politicians) are to be fought against and outest. Not just out of office but also the country as they were and are not True Americans.

Otherwise they would have followed these enforcements of these Laws that they also implemented through 1986 immigration reform bill.

Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

"Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."

Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:

* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or

* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or agent for an employer in any way, or

* knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions

Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.

Well, I think the main problem is the origin of this situation:
*The Mexican farmers don´t receive any kind of support from the government, and they don´t have any chances (I saw frequently tons of rotten fruit and vegetables next to the Mexican highways: nobody buys the farmers their production!)

* The USA people don´t think anything bad about to hire a person, who offers his job for less. And they are everybody! The neighbour with a nanny, the company of a friend with 5 illegal persons, etc.

I think it cost a lot of money to the US people, because all the solutions are not effective: while the US people continue offering a job to these people!

I don´t like when my people is suffering or using the US System, the politic problems and attitudes (I spent my vacations in Napa Valley and somebody threw garbage on my face and scream "go home Mexican!" What would the US vacationist think, if I behave so while they bring their money to my country?)

I think, both countries have to do something together, but effective, for our farmers and for the USA. But it is difficult, my stupid govermment prefers to have our farmers in USA sending dollars, instead of help them stay home...

If the media would do a better job reporting on the people crossing the border, americans would be able to separate the good folks from the bad.
Most of us do not begrudge someone coming here for a job to feed their family. We do feel they should do it within the law.
What most dislike is the fact that the lazy, criminal and dangerous are coming in right along side the good people.
It's easy to just lump them all together.
Secure the border, screen those that want to enter and the good people will be accepted much more easily than they are now.

Mexicans as well as many others are breaking the law when they come illegally into the US. It's many many more than you imagine, not thousands. I feel for people that are trying to get a better life for themselves but I don't want the tax burden of supporting them, their children, and all their relatives. To me, it is really simple. I have to obey the law, you have to obey the law, so everyone should have to obey the law. Those that break the law need to suffer the consequences and be sent back--no more being released on their own recognicence and then disappearing into the masses. Amenesty was granted once before, I think it was Reagan. That should be it and our laws should be enforced. If you want to know the consequences of unrestricted immigration, just ask an American Indian. And please don't think a fence is the answer. Many land owners put up ladders so that their fences will stop being torn down. America is being sucked dry by everyone. If we don't stop ALL of it, there will be no America. The time to stop all of this is now because there will be no later. . .

Illegals rarely work for minimum wage. The ones that have been outed by the IRS at my husband's company were making from $11-$23 an hour. Illegals are not just from Mexico, a lot are from Guatemala, Venezuela, even Columbia but they are all illegal aliens. My view is they are ILLEGAL & therefore should be expelled from country or jailed - their choice. The drain on our economy is too much.
We can not continue to offer free schools, medical care, roads, protection, plus pick up cost of accidents, jails, & taxes for people with no respect of laws or the US.
Absolutely no amnesty. European countries can wait, apply & come into the US legally then so can Mexico.
If they want to take over our country, then make them a state & we will call in New Mexico II.

wow
SUSAN H is just an angry racist because its all she knows. She's angry because her parents are brother and sister. It's not her fault her family has a long history of inbreeding. Have pity on her.
As for the real issue here, there wouldn't be so many illegal immigrants here if the government didn't have such a hard policy. If they do wait to do it the right way, then they will be waiting years to be approved which isn't fair. Why should they wait while Europeans and Canadians can just walk right in?

I can't believe the American government has difficulty in dealing with illlegal immigrants.

There's a very, absolutely, clearly SIMPLE solution to illegal immigration.......

DEPORT ALL OF THEM.

Period.

They are disobeying the laws that were created to protect the American people.

To follow the law, the governments should deport these illegal immigrants immediately.

Use the military budget to catch them and deport them.

Simple.

Employer should not be allowed to hire them, if they do, a fine of at least $20,000.00 per illegal hired should be imposed, if the fines are not paid, they need to serve time in jail. As for as the illegals, they made them self a criminal when they cross the border illegally. They need to go home, go through the legal process if they want to live here. If not, they need to be arrested and charged with their crime, like any American would be when they break the law. If all freebies were cut off to them, they would probably deport themselves.

The US has a hypocritical attitude to immigration for a country founded/invaded by immigrants.

I don't like it one bit. The immigration problem here is horrible, the whole system is screwed. I'm a Bush supporter but this is a topic he's clearly ignored over the years, and I'm angry at him for doing so. Illegals are treated better than most citizens in this country but i believe that has to do with the bleeding hearts that advocate open boarders. That combination will lead to the "reconquista" as these militant illegals like la raza like to say. I say stop it by any means necessary.

I'm not racist AT ALL, but I don't pity any of the people who are coming here illegally. It's against the law, and not only are they doing that, but they are taking advantage of citizen's rights. They need to make it much harder to get into the US, and punish those who think it's okay to break the law.
