It may be possible. Depends on how much you have to lose to begin with. Also, how much control you have! Losing 2 lbs a week is average but more in the beginning is common. Thats about 12 weeks so I would say 30 lbs may be attainable if you adhere to a strict diet and exercise daily. Everyone is different. Good luck!

you can try but its not healthy to lose more than 1-2lbs a week because that means you are not losing fat - you are only losing water weight and muscle and it will come back.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

well just let me start by saying that i am 16..so my results may be way fast and better than adults....back in december i was at a wopping 270 lbs..then i joined a fitness place on january 1st and as of today i stand at 217. i ran and walked 1-2 miles everyday, cut my portions down by about 1/2 of how much i use to, drank no soda, maybe a diet one everyother day, just water, and i wouldn't eat 3-4 hours before bed...and make sure you take a multi-vitamin because when your not getting all your nutrition through food you tend to feel really weak and tired...

For sustainable healthy weight loss, consult your family doctor for starters before beginning any regimen.
Reasonable weight reduction over time is sustainable to large reduction over short time as there is a risk of gaining it all and more i a shorter time frame.
A fruits & vegetable diet with juices and herb extracts with mild jogging and other physical activity can boost your energy levels and well being than to watch repeatedly the weighing scales.
