I am a roadster nut, after buying my first 66 datsun when i was 16; however, i dont know anything about shelby cobras, except that i want one. What is the difference between replicas, kits, licensed cars, etc? What do I need to look for and what are these cars worth? Thanks!

A kit car is just that. Licensed cars are authorized by Carroll Shelby himself, and replicas are factory built to the same specifications as the orginial ones. One of the best ones are the Superformance models that are produced in S. Africa. Go to their website and check them out. If you can find one look for an orginial with a CSX3000 series serial number. They are the expensive ones.

Another option, may be a monster Miata try their website and see what they offer. Good luck with the Shelby's.

the kits are all fiberglass, the continuations from Shelby are aluminum bodys and very expensive.

If you want a all metal body at a decent price, I recommend you look at the Sunbeam Tiger and Alpine V8's or Algers. They are all steel bodies and use the same small block Ford running gear. Real Tiger's are about the same price as a Cobra kit, and the converted Alpine's can be had for less than $10k or you can convert one yourself. Much more realistic for a fun v8 powered roadster!

well, the superformance cars are nice... if you got big bucks for it, the factory five racing cobra is the best selling cobra ever... not for no reason either.

with a stock 5.0 fox body mustang fir a donor you can do under 12 in 1/4 and 0-60 in like 4.5ish
