15 year old likes to look for experience to become in an field of medical Physician. Im willing to talk to wounded soldiers and talk about em, face to face, it will surely help my social skills. Im also looking for social skills too... I dont have any Veterns hospital nearby, currently working for civilian hospital.

If I join the army to be a medical Doct. will they really give me my choice, or will they just randomly assign to each task, cause that would suck, no disrepect though. Will they train me in medicine?

My 3nd, question is, in Volunteering freely, will the Army regonized me?, and grant me scholorship, or free ecx. social skills would greatly appreciate me.

Simper Fie.

well, for starters, how do you expect to volunteer at a VA if you don't have one nearby?

In order to be a doctor in the Military, you must already have your degree and completed your internship. The ONLY medical training you can receive is if you ENLIST(Doctors are officers) and become a Medic/Corpsman.

You do not get to pick and choose which patients to treat, nor do you get to pick and choose which bases you get. everybody will have certain tasks required of them, and some will be unpleasant.

Volunteering , while nice and all, is not the way to get recognition. you volunteer becuase you want to, not because it will score points or earn you a scholarship. Volunteerism is only used on Evals to show what kind of well rounded person you are, it won't get your foot in the door.

you will have to work on your social skills yourself.

Oh, and another thing:

most VA hospitals are not treating wounded warriors. They are mainly treating Veterans and Retirees. Most recently wounded servicemembers are being treated in the military hospitals such as Walter Reed and Bethesda.

1. I don't understand how you would work for a veterern hospital if there is not one near you. I would stick with volunteering at the local hospital, that's good enough for now.

2. If you join the army as a medical doctor, you already have to have a medical degree, and you don't get to choose which cases you would like to treat, that would be ludacris.

3. I'm not sure about medical scholarships, but my friend enrolled in this program where it would pay 4 years of college for him, if he promised to serve 4 years in the military after he graduated.
