You pointed out one of my major difficulties...
I love languages, and slang is the most infuriating thing...I am a translator, and slang is something which appears out of the blue, they are not listed in a dictionary, and frequently the resource of "guessing" what that particular word means, by the sense of the phrase, can be deceitful.
I hate slang ( in every language...).

Just don't fall into the trap of thinking slang is proper. Those people will never get anywhere. Forget them, and learn, at least LEARN how to speak and write proper English. Half the battle of a decent future is won by that.
Or you can play the blame game, and be a poor ignorant slob like so many are.

I think slangs and the way people talk is just a sign of the times. They way we talk now is different than it was 20 years ago just like it'll be different in another 20 years.

The only time I find it annoying is when it's used at a place of business. Everyday at work, I hear people saying "dude, where's my report" or "I ain't done with that spreadsheet yet, chill out".
Otherwise, it doesn't bother me at all. I think to master the english language, you should also incorporate all the colloquialisms and lexicons.

What's more annoying than people talking in slang, which has been a part of language for centuries and will never change, is people writing in TXT SPEAK when there is no need for it.

Occasionally it is annoying. But, in truth, it is a part of our culture. Just as humans are always changing and evolving, our language is continually changing and evolving. Slang is the first step in that evolment, as much slang eventually winds up... in the dictionary.

many styles of slang are needed while a author is exhibiting the way that genuine human beings talk. it is likewise a colourful way of expression for ourselves to apply, yet while it is merely too crude on your specific liking you at the instant are not compelled to apply it. the undeniable fact that there is a few degree of annoyance is a small fee to pay for giving and receiving the message, because it is felt somewhat than as or the way it is extra completely written, via the in the present day-laced among us.

You know, 'hello' was pretty slangy less than two hundred years ago. And 'hey' was a provincial southernism as recently as the time of To Kill A Mockingbird.

yes. that is why so many people can't ace english here. I agree totally with you. I guess though if you want to be informal with someone you've known for a long time.
