We all know the state of Iraq right now. Instead of being all in the middle, go out to the borders. They don't want to give control to the Iraqi's because they fear Islamic fundamentalist terrorists and WMD.

Control who and what goes in and out of the country. Like how it was before the invasion.

Iraq's border is over 2200 miles.

That would a whole lot more troops than you have there now.

It would make sense to have border patrol. That way suspects cant get in, or out. Iraq mission is about weeding out the terrorists. So we figure why not go to the middle--its the heart of civilization...not to mention great hiding places. Also the middle is dangerous, rigged with explosives, and must be watched at all times. Not neccesarily Osama himself...but his cave buddies. Although, Iraq has a long border, we have allies that could help out. No need to speak of bases, because we are there to stay. No one is going to knock those forts down now. That coutnry will always remain suspect, politically speaking. Thanks to the guys who like to crash planes into buildings, we are on Iraq (as a country...not people) like maggots on meat.

No offense to anyone. But I cant apologize for telling the truth.

I have thought the same thing for a while. Why not go thru the country, looking under beds and in the back of closets, collecting the guns and explosives, then close the borders? seems to me that would solve the problem. This got out of control when we just dismissed the former Iraqi Army (under Saddam), and didn't find something for them to do, except to foment trouble for us. Remember, after V-E day, we disarmed the German Army, and put them to work rebuilding the country, after paying them while returning their weapons. This occurred after the surrender, and before the Marshall Plan went into law. The U.S. military used this strategy to keep the people busy and also helped to rebuild the country after the war.

America can't even keep unarmed Mexicans out of the USA so how are they going to manage to do that in a foreign country against a cleverer enemy.

The killing and murdering being done by the insurgents is being done in and around the cities. That is where our troops can best defend those who cannot otherwise defend themselves.

Wouldn't it be SAFER for US troops if they weren't there fighting a lost cause--brought on by GOP incompetence?
