it can, but there are much better things you can do.
first off, dry to schedule and emergency appointment with your dermatoligist. your doctor can give you a shot of cortisone, which immediatly gets rid of zits. if you can't. go to your local trader joe's a purchase some australian tea tree oil. put a drop on each zit and watch them dry and go away. also, use a purifying mask. boil some water. set it on a table where you can sit, put a big towel over your head and put your head over the steam of the water to open up your pores. do this for 5 min. after, cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser and then exfoliate. finally, put the mask. after prescribed time, rinse. you can also use hydrocortisone cream, which is used for mosquito bites, to help reduce swelling. use benzoylic peroxide and salycic acid creams and face washes to also help (you can buy these at your drug store or at sephora. i recommend murad skin care).
good luck.

To clear up the odd pimple, get a regular aspirin and crush it into powder. Then add just enough water to make a paste. Put the paste directly on your pimples and let it dry. This will help to get rid of the pimples as quickly as possible.
Good luck!
P.S. Stop eating or drinking anything that contains red/orange food coloring.
