The others have do & don't lists which you follow to make yourself right in the sight of their gods. Christianity has a do/don't list too of course, but we are taught that we can never be good enough or follow it closely enough to be right in the eyes of a holy God. For that reason, God sacrificed himself to make a way for us to be reconciled with him.

two reasons: 1- We have more freedom. Under the law of moses, and in Islam, there are death penalties for disobeying the law/religion. Christianity doesnt really do that. Where there is room for dissension, there will be dissension. 2- Its prophesied that there would be a great apostasy. This doesnt mean all the truths of the gospel would be lost, but that the authority would be lost- for a time- on the earth. When that direct connection to God was removed after the apostles were murdered. many of the truths and organization was lost too. We cant just operate on oral tradition and self-interpretation of the Bible. We need the prophets God promised he would always leave us. This is why the restoration of the church was so important. ----------------- Apostasy- 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first Restoration- Revelations 14: 6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Christianity *is* completely different from other religions. As 4HIM stated, religion is man's effort to measure up by following rules and regulations or denying themselves to attain holiness.
In contrast, Christian believers take part in a relationship with God, where they are judged not by their works, but by faith. All our works are under the blood of Jesus, so we receive unconditional love, complete acceptance into the family of God, and complete forgiveness for our mistakes -- past, present and future.
I'm sorry that you've been hurt by Christians. Please accept my apology for their insensitivity. We are definitely not perfect. We fail every day. But God's mercies are "new every morning". When we talk about grace, we mean getting what we want (love, acceptance, forgiveness) instead of what we deserve.
I encourage you to challenge God to reveal Himself to you. He will. Keep seeking...

Christianity is the only religion whose God actually stepped out of heaven and into human form, and went to a horrible death to pay the price for the sins of people who mock Him.

Religion is man's attempt to please their gods with rules, rituals and laws.
Jesus is God's answer for His love, His forgiveness and His grace.
Jesus Christ is not a religion. He is the friendship and the relationship that God wants us to have because, Jesus' sacrificial death shows us God's love for us.

More violent I guess, it is historically the most violent religion ever created. The church was a plague to the world for countless years.
