not usually, but it depends what breed of cat you have - they range from 6 pounds to 25 depending on breed.

Domestic shorthair, maybe a little overweight. There are ways you can tell by standing up and looking down on your cat. If it looks "round" it is overweight. It should have a slight indentation like a waist just behind it's rib cage. If this is very pronounced, then the cat is underweight. Like people, some cats have a heavier bone structure than others, so your best bet is to consult a vet.

overweight. A regular cat would be between 9 and 11, depending on the breed.

Here is an easy way to see if your kitty is overweight...Stand behind him/her looking from his/her behind toward the neck. If the abdomen (belly) is extended (fatter) than the hip to the shoulders, your kitty is a bit overweight. It really depends on your cat's frame...some cats, such as a Main Coon, are very comfortable at 20-25 pounds, depending on their frame (bone structure). Slim (not thin) is good, although I always like my kitties just a little bit "plump", which is not necessarily a good thing. I can't help it...they love to eat, lol.

It depends on the cat. Most females would be overweight at 13 lbs. - 7 to 10 would be best. My three male cats are 12 and 11 lbs and they are trim.

overweight I guess. It depends on the overall size of the cat.

Depends on the breed(s) that the cat may have. If there's any Maine Coon in him/her, then no. Some cats are naturally large.

It depends on the frame, just like people, of the cat--small, medium or large. Does he have a pot-belly? You can tell if he's fat or not just by looking at him.
