First of all, you DON'T need drugs to help you loose weight.

The key is portion control and eating healthy. If you were eating 3,000 calories or more each day, I would say you should cut back to about 2,000. (your body only needs between 1,000 and 1,500) The first week or two will be very difficult, but after that, you won't even notice. And if those calories were derived from fatty foods or junk foods, that needs to change also. Try eating a salad before your lunch and dinner. That will take up room in your stomach and allow you to eat less. Also, try not to eat at fast food restaurants. They are terrible for you...plus if you found out what was really in the food, you would never eat there again! lol.

Just believe in yourself, eat less, and eat healthier. And once you get going, start exercising, don't push it, start slow, and work your way into it.

Good luck!

You won't be able to lose 145 healthily by the end of December...it's unrealistic and it would seriously hurt you. If you DID lose weight in that little of time, then you would end up with super saggy skin and you would look awful...

Join Weight Watchers...I helped my sister-in-law lose over 80 pounds with that...

At 290 pounds you need to start off smart and realistic...you need to do this healthily and wisely or you could seriously do yourself some damage.

December you could be looking really good, but you won't be 145 pounds lighter...you need to give up on that right now...

Be smart so this will be a lifetime thing...Why do you need to lose it by December? If you need to lose it for a specific reason that requires a date, then you're doing it for the wrong reasons...do it for your health and for your future...not for a Christmas vacation or whatnot...

I am a high school teacher that specializes in nutrition, health and Physical Education. I gained 70 pounds when I became ill and was in the hospital for a month...it is a tough thing to do, but you can do it with realistic goals. Go to WW and get into the program...find a buddy if you can. Go there, join and you will learn so much, plus you will get support and feel great about going.

Much luck to you...be safe.

The best way to lose any amount of weight is to eat better and exercise. It doesnt have to be 3 hours at the gym every nite ...even walking for 30-45 minutes daily is a great way to start getting back into shape. Eating 4-5 smaller (low cal) meals spread throughout the day and drinking lots of water helps keep you metabolism up.

In my opinion, there is no healthy and non-surgical way to lose that much weight in 6 months. Averaging 2 lbs a week is considered healthy, and increases your chances of keeping the weight off and not yo-yoing because you are obviously changing your habits and not just crash dieting.

Try setting a more reasonable/attainable goal. Maybe 50-60 pounds. This will help you feel more successful and keep you motivated. If you happen to lose more in that time than thats just a bonus! You dont/shouldnt just want to take off the weight for one special occasion... you should want to do it to be healthy, have energy, and feel good! Hope this is helpful. Good luck!

That is not a realistic goal. 5 lbs a month is reasonable, but because you have a bit to loose you can safely loose 8-10 lbs a month. That is only 60 lbs, but they will be a healthy loss that will last. Limit your calories to 1800 a day. Do cardio for 45 minutes 5 times a week, and lift weights for 20-30 minutes 3 times a week. Drink plenty of water every day...you should be peeing once every hour if you're drinking enough for weight loss.

That's a whole person!!! No way you can do that in 6 months.
Unless of course you can opt for the stomach stapleing surgery.
There are lots of side effects with this so you need to sit down with your doctor and discuss your options. You realize of course that taking off that much weight in such a short time will leave you with saggy baggy elephant looking skin. Your skin can't possibly shrink back to size with such a rapid weight loss. You really should discuss this with your doctor. I kinda have a feeling that losing that much weight in 6 months would be dangerous for your health.

I think you should start by making a goal that you won't be disappointed with. Losing 145 lbs by Christmas I think is a bit unrealistic. I've heard the best/healthiest way to lose weight is to join Weight Watchers......or if you can't afford that or going to a gym......You can start by eating Healthy meals, 6 small meals/day with 8 glasses of water or more if you can/day...also start walking everyday...if you can..try 2 x / day to walk and each day try to walk a lil further. If it's difficult to walk right now..just moving in your house is a start. Eat chicken/fish/lean meats(chicken , turkey)..eat Whole Grain Rice or Pasta, use tomatoe based pasta sauce instead of creamy sauces.....eat fruits/and veggies as much as you can*, eat yogurt , but limit your amounts of cheese/butter/milk products/ice creams...eat small amounts IF you have to eat them for cravings. Try to stay away from WHITES (white rice, white flour, white pasta, white breads, sugar, ..) when you start to see the weight dropping you should be able to start exercising more. Even dancing for 20min or more everyday, or sitting and moving your arms up and down...and try to do stomach crunches, just lifting your head off the ground, hold for a few seconds then back down , up again...ANY Movement will help you burn calories and by eating 6small meals a day will boost your metabolism and start burning the fat*~ Best OF Luck* (but trust me.....you don't want to lose alot of weight in such a short period of time and you dn't want to take diet pills as both these methods will make you GAIN weight once some of the weight starts coming off. ) Eat Healthy, Exercise what you can do and increase a lil more each day*, drink water etc) and you will be able to KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF* and live a healthier life*
Perhaps when u can, start introducing light weights to your exercise......purchase a exercise ball , tis easier to do your crunches and other exercises* even bouncing up and down on the ball, helps you strengthen your upper thighs and while bouncing pull in your stomach muscles...hold for a few then let out......will tighten your stomach up*......GOODLUCK* stick with it~ and do it the healthy way*

There is no way to lose that much weight that quickly that is remotely healthy. Any diet and exercise regimen that you can stick to is okay, but setting such an unrealistic goal is setting yourself up for disappointment.

Good luck
