The upc usually works from the pattern and size of the lines. If you got an EXACT replica, I think it might work. But keep in mind that it is not going to be easy to get it exact and it might not work. Pretty interesting idea though.

You can use a UPC symbol from a regular everyday item, like bread, and if it's done exactly right, to exact size, it would work.

i believe that regular UPC codes have metals in them that contain the product's information. i doubt you could get one that actually scans.
