Every time I get the message that I need to go to the solutions page and download the programs to play videos but it still does not work even after I download all of the upgrades and players.

Try downloading the vista codec pack. It gives you all the common codecs to play all sorts of video formats.

Complain to Microsoft
Complain to the computer Manufacturer
both say it's compatible with each other
it's their problem...
