Hi ,good question .I am told that the bible is a collection of stories ,mostly factual ,and adopted by christian followers as a guide to behavior through life . Pretty much as I would understand the Koran to be ,for example.
As in all books not everyone read the same into the content ,and there are people that denounce book content and come up with other theories . You ,like I ,must read, consider and take what you see from what you are reading. Then remember that a story toy to the first listener ,passed on to another, then passed on to another ,and so on ,when eventually heard by you, again ,will have been altered to suit the teller ,and will most probably have gained embellishment . You will still find the basic facts within the story however . You must now consider the content of my missive . where will it all end . Good reading ,Don

you are able to choose for to have confidence that the thoughts contained in the Bible at the instant are not real, yet billions have confidence that they are and stay their lives in accordance to its teachings. the religion section is for questions approximately religions. The Bible is the holy text cloth for the Christian faith. Mythology and Folklore are diverse than faith, if for no different reason they're in the main thoughts that have not have been given any planned existence-application message. Ones concept or disbelief contained in the holy texts of any faith does no longer end it from being a faith. If we positioned the holy texts of all religions into the Mythology and Folklore section, then there could be no desire for a separate faith and Spirituality section (no atheist wisecracks, please).

This is a section for Religion and Spirituality, so that's a good fit for the Bible, a religious text.
Mythology and Folklore and considered separate from religion. although there can be some crossover with some of the ancient mythologies.

We have the Religion section to give all of the Atheists
a place to go and see that they really are wrong about
God. You guys must be searching for the truth otherwise
why would you all come HERE instead of other venue,
such as mythology and folklore, seems that is what you
are the best at.
Don't worry, repent and God will save you

Some could be - ones about creation or flood stories. Others could be in archaeology or history, depending on the question.
More importantly, why aren't questions about Young-Earth Creationism and Intelligent Design put under the mythology and folklore section? :-)

Because quite a large number of people still believe in the Bible and take its words as law. Especially if you live in the USA, lots of people believe that the Bible was written by the God himself and that it is all real.
Putting Bible studies under mythological studies can definitely inflame a few people. The library/bookstore will definitely be faced with boycotts, protests, or worse.
(p.s I'm not a Christian, and I tried my best in answering in a neutral way. However be ready for a bunch of flaming from devout Christians)

All religious questions in the final analysis belong to mythology and folklore. However, no religion would admit this.Instead they would insist that they are the 'gospel'truth. You may not know but the recent findings of the graves of Jesus gives a lie to the story crucifixation (and also of the coming again) but every attempt is being made viciously to deny the authenticity of the graves. This is what comes of religious dogma. How can you expect such dogmatist to ever admit that that is all mythology and folklore.

Why aren't science? After all, people believed the Earth was flat and everything revolved around it for such a long time because science told them so. Scientific theories today are still simply that; theories. They get disproven by the very science used to create them. Some new concept is then thought up to take their place. All of it is just made up in one sense or another.

because that would be insulting to a lot of people. You have to consider that there is a lot of things that have been proven. There are ancient writings mentioning the existance of certain things in the bible.
Mythology and Folklore are entirely different. Careful what you think about those topics, stirring up a hornets nest isn't fun.
