Neither of the two lenses you mention is wide enough.

I'd go for the 18-135.

This will let you squeeze the bride, groom, best man and bridesmaids into a wide angle shot, plus zoom in for head-and-shoulders portraits.

As for settings, unless you are comfortable with camera controls, choose "auto".

Hope this helps.

Neither. Also rule out the 18-135 if the wedding is indoors, due to distortion at the wide end. It's no worse than other consumer lenses, but I wouldn't use it for weddings. You need a fast f2.8 wide zoom. Prepare to spend some bucks. You also need a second camera body, 2 flashes, etc etc.

I have to say, asking questions like this says you are in no way ready to shoot someone's "special day." I hope you aren't preparing to hang out your wedding photographer sign.

If you are just interested in shooting as a guest, then that's different. Use the lens you have and fire away. Unless you understand a great deal about shooting manual, stay with program mode, or you can practice your manual settings. It's a whole new ballgame when there's no pressure to get the great shots to document the day. Just stay out of the professional photographer's way. Try to shoot things he/she will miss, especially of the other guests enjoying themselves at the reception. Then present the B & G with a portfolio of candids that they will enjoy alongside the professional's work.

If you're interested in wedding photography, try www.photo.net They have a great forum on weddings and social events. There you can search for first time and beginners and get a wealth of information.

Like stated before, neither of the lenses are very good choices. Out of the two, definitely use the 28-80mm. This is about the equivalent to a 42-120mm lens, so it wont give you that great of wide angle shots.
Read the meter for the best shots. Look for good backgrounds, like a rose garden. Think of composition. Keep the background simple, and use a fairly wide open aperture. Also, try not to overexpose highlights, such as the dress.

First of all, I know I'm not a guy but I'm gonna answer anyways. It really depends on the type of guy. But yeah a lot of guys like innocent girls, and some like dumb girls who pretend the have a brain of a 5 yr old. But most guys aren't usually attracted to the type of girl who "pretends" to be dumb and innocent for an actual relationship since I could understand that they would easily get bored with that kind of girl since she acts like she doesn't know anything. And the guys ur talking about probably only give her that kind of attention when she's around becuz they know they can easily use her and then dump her. Sooo yeah

I'll agree with Vienna. The 18-135 is going to be a lot more useful than either of the two you mentioned.
