If one has had an eating disorder, but not for very long (4-6 months), how messed up is the metabolism? (it was quite speedy before the disorder)

Oh, and if I increase the calorie intake VERY slowly, like 50 cals per week, would that be a good way to increase cals without gaining weight?

if you were not eating at all or just a little by seriously depriving your body then all you lost is water weight and muscle and slowed down metabolism (less muscle=slower metabolism) and at first you will gain weight till your metabolism adjusts. upping 50cal a week is a good idea but start with 1000cal a day - eat fresh, unprocessed foods and drink lots of water.
