Time to stretch your wings and fly, eh? In addition to being a foreign-exchange student, you could become an airline flight attendant, or join the military or volunteer to help out a charitable organization of your choice. Lots of options if you want to travel and take a brief break in your schooling.

Well being a nanny overseas isn't really that good of a deal. Without money and since you will be starting college in the fall, you can't go run off just yet. Try to get your parents to send you to to Europe as a graduation gift, or overseas for a language immersion school for a month or two. It will be hard to do with getting ready for college and all, but you might be able to pull it off.

However don't despair you will have plenty of chances very soon. Look into your universities semester abroad program, this happens during your junior or senior year but it will do the trick. You can backpack across Europe during one of the summers or after you graduate. And of course what was pointed out, teach English overseas when you graduate. Understand that you would have to study that language a while in school (as a minor or major) to get a good job.

As long as you don't plan to get married right away or have kids, it's easy to travel when young.

LOL...well, the no money part makes it kind of hard.
Try this, get a college exchange program to take you for Europe.
Teach English in Asia (you can check with companies that offer jobs overseas)
Or...better yet, apply to be a nanny, or au pair. You will have your food and lodging taken care of, get to see europe and meet some nice european guys who will take you partying and sight seeing.

Enjoy, you are young and europe is especially a wonderful place to be young!
