is Mahatma Ghandi burning in hell?

Because God wants everyone to be saved, the Spirit gives everyone a chance to share in Christ's death and rising. Those who are ignorant of the Gospel and the Church, yet seek the truth and do God's will (according to their understanding) can be saved. It is supposed that such persons would desire Baptism explicitly if they knew its necessity.

Concerning children who have died without Baptism, the mercy of God (who wills all to be saved) and Jesus' tenderness toward the children, allow the Church to hope that these children are saved. The Church calls parents not to prevent their children from receiving Baptism.

Peace and blessings!

It is only true if you interpret that statement correctly:

ONE does not equal a person. It is metaphorical for unity.

Jesus understood this unity.

No matter how you seek unity, since Jesus understood it as well, it is logical that you would have reached the same level of unity as he has, or at least come very close.

And in response to the last statement: If Mahatma Ghandi is dead....how can he be burning in Hell? You need to be alive in order to burn.

Words are a very poor way to understand God because they are open to a lot of misinterpretation. It is better to follow your feelings...

That is except through Jesus. Jesus Christ the Lord God is the Lord of heaven.

Religion is a universal imparted to man from the Lord. It all depends on Ghandi's heart. You go to your loves when you die and enter in the the next life

" I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. " ....Jesus Christ speaking. ( John 14:6 )

Regardless of how we think of someone, they cannot be a good enough person to enter into heaven. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not by works, lest any man should boast.
The very best righteousness that a man can manage is as filthy rags to God. It is only Christ that lives in you that will get you into the kingdom of God.

As for your question about Ghandi, he is asleep with everyone else that has died, awaiting the judgement.

On the typical "Christian" theory, yeah.

Some "Christians" will say no, if a person lived an exemplary life but never formally accepted Jesus, he'll still go to heaven - but this probably isn't the actual doctrine of the churches to which they belong.

More informed, although obviously much less moral, are the "Christians" who quote John 14:6 in proof of the fact that Jesus is the only way to heaven. That's pretty much the official stance of Christianity - otherwise, why be Christian?

Why do you think Jesus would not want Ghandi in Heaven? Why would Jesus reject Ghandi? Why would Ghandi tell Jesus that he refuses to be with him?

Ghandi had great things to say about Jesus. I'm sure neither one had an issue with each other that would prevent them from getting into Heaven. If you can see otherwise, please let me know.

I doubt Mahatma Ghandi is in Hell. Nor do I think that little kids in Asia who died early and never heard the Gospels are in Hell.

But lets not forget that no one is in Hell at the moment. That comes later, after judgement day, doesn't it?

John chapter 1: The Word that is said to have become flesh as Jesus gives light to every human being coming into the world. Abraham, in Genesis, recognized a Canaanite priest who worshipped God Most High as a devotee of the same God as himself. Paul, in Romans 2, says that even those outside God's chosen people who seek immortality by doing good will receive eternal life.

Now if we could only persuade fundamentalists to read that book they quote so selectively and read serious scholarly books about it, we'd really be getting somewhere...

Christianity claims that it owns heaven and all other religious teachings are worthless. The people who started this belief didn't realize that for thousands of years, Jesus Christ didn't yet exist. Therefore, God denied Heaven to righteous people who didn't believe in Jesus before God decided to have children. Some religious people are very gullible.
