I have very thick and wavy/curly brown hair. I can't spike it up because it's so wavy and thick that it just collapses. The longer it gets the more curly it gets. I want something that is actually a style as opposed to just running my fingers through it. I need it to be easy to maintain and actually work with my hair instead of trying to make it do something it doesn't normally.

Look at pictures of Justin Timberlake throughout his career. He had a bushy hairdo, a shorter variation of the bushy look, and now it is very close cropped. I suggest you go with the close cropped. Go to the barber and tell him to cut it 1/4 of an inch all over your head. It is a crew cut. But it is easy to maintain and is very stylish right now. Just make sure that friends and family think it will look good. Some people dont have the face for crew cut.
