if you get pregnant while in basic training, you will discharged proably with an OTH or General. you will be required to produce the name of the father, who will ALSO be discharged.
if you are single and get pregnant while on AD, you will be given the optionto leave the service, but you must agree to do so BEFORE the baby is birn.. and the birth will not be paid for. if you choose to stay in, you will get your regular six weeks maternity leave off, and then you will return to duty. you will be required to produce a family Care plan.. a short term and a long term provider for your child. you DO NOT get out of regular duties and deployments just becuase you are a single parent. if you attempt to do so, you can be discharged, especially if you pull the " my FCP can't take care of Suzy for six months, so I can't go on the deployment." BS.
Sinlge parents get priority at the base Day care centers.

Like others posted, in basic training you will be in trouble. I'm sure it's happened in the past and believe it or not, these guys are pretty good at addition and can figure out when you got pregnant.
As for active duty, if you are stationed somewhere deemed hazardous by the military (such as a Naval ship) you will be re-assigned to more posh shore duty until you have your baby. Then you will have a few weeks maternity leave and will have to return.

River Rat's got it right. If you get pregnant in boot camp that is clearly a violation of the rules. When I went through Boot camp, there were about a dozen women awaiting discharge for that very reason.
After you get out of Boot camp, well, you are just another adult wih a job and are treated accordingly. Only if it can be shown that you got pregnant by misconduct, such as sex with a married man, then you will be punished. Otherwise, don't sweat it.

First, how would you get knocked up in basic training?? That WON"T happen.
Next, if you get pregnant you have the baby and keep on doing your job but now you will have a baby to tend to. You will get 43 days of baby leave following the birth of the baby and after that you will be back to work full time.
Woman have children all the time in the military.

Yes, the others are right when they say if you get pregnant in basic you will be discharged, but they have all forgotten that AIT is part of training as well so again if you were to get pregnant while in AIT status you will be discharged. Once you are finished with Basic & AIT you can have children. Please remember that training can last anywhere from 16 weeks to 72 weeks depending on your MOS, my husband had 72 weeks of training. Good Luck & Best Wishes!

The military does not pay for abortions.
You'll be checked for pregnancy before you go to basic and released if you're "positive" at that time.
After Basic, you will not be prosecuted for an abortion and you will be supported if you have the baby. It'd still be difficult though and it's certainly not recommended, particular for a single woman. You'll have to make a plan for care if you are deployed.

You see the doctor, and then after 9 months you have a baby. You get to wear a maternity uniform and that's about it. Now you will have to make arrangements to ensure this child is cared for if you are deployed. If you can't you will be separated.

There is supposedly no sexual contact between men and women during basic. If you get pregnant in basic, you and the fellow are probably in trouble. During active duty, you will be placed on maternity leave, have the baby, and then return to duty.

yes my step sister in teh late eighties got pregenent in japan while in the air force. she was not forced to come back to the states but she wanted to any ways. she could have went back but decided not to. they give you the choice to stay or not remember there are always people called army brats who live on base where they have day care centers for the children. how ever if you are in the middle of a war and people are getting blown up you would naturally want to send your children home and have them in a safe place. americans have the luxuary for their children not to get blown up the way the americans blow up other countries children caught in the cross fire!
