according to the abrahamic faiths...why did god send all this phrophets to the same place?
In the OT, God is only about the Jewish people, and screw everyone else.
Christianity is pretty good at adapting to differant cultures, but jesus was also a jew....so to follow jesus do you also have to follow the OT god and his rules? Should christians then not eat pork?
In islam, I have been told many times that the Koran can only be understood in classical arabic. The grand majority of the world does not understand this language, so why would god make his word to all only in one language...which most people don't understand....why not send a Koran to the Koreans in hangul? ect....Why do muslims call god allah all the time when they are not speaking arabic and only pray in arabic? Does god not understand english?
the full question is: are most religions mostly vehicals of tribalism? If they are universal, why where they not revealed by god to diff ppl?

simplest way to put it:
Why are all the prophets from the middle east? Why no Chinese jesus or Aztec mohammed or an Indian moses who parts the ganjis?
It is only semetic people talking in term of their history and culture.

yes anyone can study arabic, or more percise classical arabic, as most arabs can not understand classical koranic arabic either, and must listen to imans to explain it. Still most people don't have the time or resources and maybe even ability to learn it well
Why is it not more universal?
If god wanted to everyone to understand, why not send more than one edition?

I am a Catholic and do not use the Old Testament as a guide to my life. I refuse to believe the things that are written in the Old Testament as it exists today.
God is benevolent and merciful. Not violent, blood thirsty and political - the way he is portrayed in the Old Testament.
Jesus is God, Prophet, Priest and King. We should not be concerned with the stories from before his time. We should try and be like Christ. In the Old Testament/Torah, our models are slave masters, murderers, womanizers, robber barrons and dead beat fathers...
Jesus is the way.

Christians can NOT eat pork, read Leviticus 11:7. Most Christians that do know this, always try to find some way to justify eating it anyway.
What you have been told about only understanding the Quran in arabic, is wrong. The Holy Quran was revealed in Arabic, and has not changed a single word to this day. It has been translated into many different languages very well, but I think what you mean by not being able to be understood it in any other language is that the translations may become distorted in any other language.
We call GOD ALLAH, because we speak in arabic in our prayers and religion concerning speach, because it is the revealed language of our faith, and we do not change it, as to not to distort the true meaning.

Good question, I know many. A few days ago, a teen, perhaps 18 or 19, was reading the Holy Al-Qur'an inside the masjid. She had fake nails on, nailpolish on etc, yet she was reading the Holy Book. How is that possible. Isn't it 7aram, and gunnah as well? Many people claim to be Muslim yet they dress and act unlike that of Muslims. People follow their religion blindly. Just because they were born into a Muslim family, they believe they are Muslims, when in reality, they are basically nothing at all. May ALLAH(SWT) show them the Light, However, I am a Muslim by birth, a Muslimah by my actions as well.

God sent prophet Abraham to Ur, Iraq. God made all prophets after him from his own family-ishmael isaac,Jacob,Joseph etc. According to islam abt 124,000 prophets were sent byGod & to every place on the earth,be it Russia, China, India.
God says in Quran:
"In every age have we sent a warner"
So wherever people lived , to them aprophet was sent.
God in OT:
Prophet Muhammad was the last & final prophet sent. So his message is for all.
Moses was sent only for the guidance of the Bani Israel, the children o Israel. OT is not only praising jews, God punished jews when they disobeyed Him. In OT God if God instructs Jews to fight the Canaanites, it s becuse they wers unbelievers. But if jews disbelieve, God will punish them as He did in the Torah.
Jesus WAS from the children of Israel, was sent only for their guidance.Bible says : "Hearken O Israel".& he instructed his disciples "to go to the lost sheep o Israel"
As for pork ,its too logical to refrain from it, But it was Paul who legalised its eating.
As for Quran , It can be best understood in arabic because it has been revealed in that.
OT was revealed in Hebrew but there is no Hebrew version o OT.
NT was revealed in Aramaic , now its understood in english.
As for people not understanding it, it is the only living language in which divine ijunctions have been revealed. Hebrew is a dead language, Aram. is a dead lang.
ur Q why God didnt send Quran in Chinese, had it been revealed in Chines u would have said why God hasnt revealed it in African

The Tanakh ("Old Testament") is "only about the Jewish people" because G-d gave non-Jews only 7 commandments. He gave Jews 613. It's only "about the Jews" because nobody else had to follow so many rules. People are more than welcome to it, though, but if they help themselves to it, then they can't really claim that it's elitist because non-Jews don't really need it...technically...

Thank you ever so much for voicing the exact same thing that I was thinking. If God is omnipotent, why announce your existence in only limited places? Excellent point.
