I find it so hard to understand that I am so easily persecuted for my faith on this forum. I had no idea that this bashing is part of one's doctrine.I was not raised to believe that this is how a good christian should behave.

I think I may have not made it clear that I am Catholic.

Hopefully none, since any Catholic making such a statement would be speaking in direct contradiction to the teaching of the Catholic Church.

I have never told anyone that they are going to hell because they are not Catholic. I was never taught this by any priest or nun. I have never been to Mass where other religions have been discussed. Catholics are generally more tolerant than people of other religions. If any Catholic would bother to read the catchism they would be told that anyone who believes in God & Jesus Christ & tries to lead a good life would find salvation.

I know personally that there are many religions which teach their members prejudice against Catholics. I think its because they have to explain why they aren't Catholic since their religion was formed during or after the reformation.

I wonder which sect you are. I havent found that specifically with Catholics. I find it more with the protestant sects than Catholics. Im not Catholic, not christian, but I have noticed there is a lot of Catholic bashing these days.
I thought THAT was against the christian doctrine.

Never, in fact Catholics are more Ecumenical than any.
Heck, I was at a Catholic High School Graduation Where a Rabbi did the Address.
Judge not, but pray for the judgemental.

i'm not catholic, but in reading q&a from y/a catholics like debra m, i don't recall seeing that...the popes all used to say that, though...i hear they don't have that as their 'official position' now...either that, or they've modified it to say that anyone who is saved IS a catholic whether or not they attend...i watched about 4 hrs of EWTN while doing some work around the house, but the subject never came up

I should hope none. If they did, not only would they not be Catholic, they wouldn't be Christian either.
