in my opinion it's because, when faced with new evidence, scientists will change their mind/belief about something

The measure of man's intelligence is not in how much knowledge he claims to know, but in his ability to pursue knowledge.

Scientists accept that everything they learn is provisional. They CELEBRATE a mistake, for it is a chance to learn something new, and embrace the new evidence and look for a new theory that fits both it and the old evidence. Theists would scoff at this and say that this fact means that science is unreliable, but to them I say this--if we weren't constantly correcting OURSELVES (with new discoveries, no less), you wouldn't even know the right from the wrong! And it's not like you guys are doing any better, just sitting there and clinging to old superstitions.

The body of knowledge in sciences keep growing and growing, while all of the major organized religions are stagnant, stubborn beasts that won't change for no one no how no matter how high the evidence is stacked against them.

Many scientists believe in, and rely on, science to solve life's problems and mysteries. Because of this, they think that God is not necessary in their quest.

AIDS first came out in 1980. Twenty-six years (26) have passed already, and even with the bright minds of the medical profession into it, still neither a cure nor even a vaccine has been found. Let us see what science can do to solve this problem of AIDS.

The weather has gone berserk. Even meteorologists are puzzled of what is happening. They blame this and that, but never have I heard that attribute God to the problem. Why? Is it impossible to God to make the desert bloom? Is it impossible to God for drought to occur over a certain place? Is it impossible to God to have super hurricanes and tornadoes? Let us see what science can do to solve this erratic weather.

I hope that scientists will acknowledge the Almighty God and come back to Him.

Religion could be that cool, but most religious people chicken out. They don't want new evidence, they want to stay comfortable and feel certain they are right. They want someone else to tell them what to do and what to believe. Dostoyevsky got it right in his parable of the grand inquisitor in The Brothers Karamazov!

And in the process always improve everything around us.

Like open heart surgeries, landing on the moon, electricity, Internet with R&S. Which is a good thing. If we admitted that 'If God wanted us to fly, He would have given us wings' we would have been, you know.

The actual statement should have been 'Because God wanted us to fly, He gave us a brain'.

Science, what 's next? I am eager.

You know what, I think science is wonderfully, amazingly cool.

And when presented with new evidence that's credible, of course I change my mind.

Knowledge is a blessing! And so is science!

There is no space / scope for sentiments, passions, emotions as the science (not the scientist) has no heart, mind except dry and rational intellect.

Seriously, you're right. And with science, there are new and fascinating things to learn every day.

Socrates, Pythagoras, Einstein, Tesla, and Edison, to name a few, may not agree with that idea. Religion is the mother of all sciences.
