Age distinction does not count very plenty as quickly as you're the two adults. What concerns is once you're around an identical adulthood point. 14 is far too youthful to think of roughly marriage, much less be engaged to a 21-twelve months-previous. If I have been you i'd wait it out, save nurturing the dating long-distance, and wait till she's a minimum of of criminal age interior the U.S. (18), via then you certainly would be 25 and that's extra proper i think of. regardless of the undeniable fact that it additionally relies upon on what you 2 experience is nice for you. merely understand that she is definitely nonetheless becoming into adulthood--she's hardly ever extra desirable than a infant good now, no count how mature she would look. Love is affected person!

This is yound love... sometimes it lasts and sometimes it doesn't. Don't be so jealous. I remember this growing up. The point to make is that how do you know who you are first at such a young age. Sure you can love someone... but engaged for what?? Is there a wedding date planned or is it a promise ring so to speak. My 15 year old daughter recieved a promise ring from her boyfriend, and maybe it will last,,, maybe it won't. People change and as a teen, things change dramatically from Junior high to graduating from college. People grow apart at all ages. Enjoy your relationships at this age, but focus on learning to be the person you are, and the right people will come in and out of your life. Sometimes we can love someone, but the time may not be right for a committment. Sounds like this 14 year old doesn't understand that. My own 14 year old loves taught me about boys, and yes I thought I was in love many times... but maturity is the key to putting off something we want to do with something we need to do... like finish school. You make your own life, and you only have one chance at it.

True in every state in the United state fourteen is to young to be married, without consent of the parents and without being pregnant. Fourteen is not even the age of consent for any purpose, contractual, sexual, or otherwise. Not to mention the fact that if this guy is any older then 17 he's in big trouble.
Unless it's just the joke. My friends often say me and my girl are married, and even my teachers know her as my wife. But beyond a joke, it's immoral, illegal, and impossible to be married, though engaged is different because they still aren't married and probably can't be for at least another 3 years in any state.
By then they should know if they wish to go through with it, or not.

I guess its not WRONG but its stupid. The ONLY reason anyone should be engaged is if they are planning their wedding. I know that sometimes people have long engagements, but I feel like its not real unless you really have the intension of getting married. If this girl is a friend of yours you should ask her what color your bridesmaid dress if going to be and stuff like that. She will most likely freak out and come back to reality.

In some cultures they still have pre-arranged marriages so it isn't uncommon to have 14 year old girls to get married. Still, it is wrong because at 14 one isn't old enough nor mature enough to handle big responsibilities like marriage and children. That is why in the US and most western nations it is illegal for anyone to marry without the consent of parents.

YES! When the girl grows up to be an adult or maybe before then she will realize the mistake she made. Her parents should have stopped it since she is too young to be engaged to anyone.

wrong not.FOOLISH YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is and will be missing out on so much. How old is the guy? Sounds like the guy is older and can't find a girl his own age. She should think again on that engagement. What do her parents think?

unless the parents are for it .. the marriage will not happen for 4 years.
I think 18 is too young to get married ....
I also really don't think that will last for the time that would be needed to make it happen...
