Start with your parents and work backwards.

If both of your parents had a darker parent, they both carry recessive genes for darker complexion. Combining the recessive genes from both of them can produce a child with darker complexion. Do you know what your four grandparents were like?

My father had sky blue eyes, light brown hair and he had a lot of skin cancers. HIs father was sandy haired with blue eyes and
fair skin. His mother was the dark eyed, dark haired Irish.

My mother had a father who had both Jewish and American Indian along with some German and Polish. Her father was dark haired, dark eyes and dark skinned.
Her mother was reddish haired, blue eyed and fair skinned.
My mother had dark hair and dark eyes but her skin tones were sort of light. Her age spots looked like freckles.

My parents had 3 daughters. I was born a redhead with hazel eyes and a skin cancer type skin. I had so many precancerous lesions on my face, the doctor gave me a chemo treatment to put on my face to burn them off. Now both of my sisters tan very well. My older sister had hazel eyes. My younger has brown eyes.

My younger sister and I have the same facial shape. We have the Celtic nose that is somewhat small that turns up with a little knob on top that gets knobbier and knobbier as we get older.

My hazel eyed older sister definitely looked like the daughter of Abraham.

Both of my sisters were born with dark hair that and turned to towheads but then it darken up a little as they got older.

So when you're hybrid a lot of things show up.

This is strictly theory on my part, but Wikipedia has some interesting articles on both ACADIANS and CREOLES that might interest you. Have your parents ever mentioned those terms?? The ACADIANS were 64 French families who established residence in Canada's NOVA SCOTIA (once called ACADIA) in the 17th century. They all lived in the coastal regions between the English and French, but took neither country's side in battles, etc. In 1754, Col. Charles Lawrence demanded they take an oath of allegiance to the British, but they refused, thinking they would eventually have to take up arms against their relatives living in French territory. So, a mass deportation was ordered, and 12,000 Acadians were expelled from their homes. Some made it to LOUISIANA and settled there permanently after 1764--becoming todays CAJUNS. In Portugese, the term CREOLE referred to any New World colonist residing in the Gulf Coast area. In Louisiana's colonial period, it referred to any black, white, or mixed race Louisiana natives. Since this was the era of slavery in North America, there were some known as CREOLES OF COLOR, who had managed to become fairly wealthy and even had slaves of their own. So, if you could trace your family history back far enough, this could be one reason why your skin type is different from your parents. I'm not saying that to sound racist, by any means, because I HATE that in a person, but slave owners DID "intermingle" with their slaves, producing biracial children.

Even a few of your foremost retail retail outlets do historical past assessments. I recognize whilst I labored at Walmart years in the past, they did crook historical past assessments and drug checking out. Perhaps rapid meals eating places would possibly not do screenings to that quantity, however it sort of feels to be anymore that businesses are doing no less than a speedy crook historical past screening. Some employers even do credit score assessments, which I consider is just a little too invasive, for my part.
