Yes, but it's a waste of money, and that's the sin, you could use that money to help the poor.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that does go against Christianity. See, I go to a Lutheran/Christian School. That came up this year because some kids were using... Well anyways we had a huge search in the Bible and we found many verses that talked about psychics and stuff. One said that it was basically inviting the devil into your heart. And it doesn't just include psychics, its things like horoscopes, websites that are suppose to contact the dead, and stuff. Hope this Helps...

Very simple: Deuteronomy 18:9-12. It is very point blank. Don't take other people's opinions when it comes to Christianity. Seek your answers in the Word... and the Word says in Dt 18:9-12 (NIV)...When you enter the land of the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifies his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord yur God will drive out those nations before you.
It is important enough to stay away from these types of things (psychics) that He mentions them specifically... Medium or Spiritist.
I hope this answers your question... I have found that praying and meditating on the Word will bring you the answers you need. If you don't get the answer you want it may not be time for you to know that yet. Keep your faith strong and resist the temptation to listen to psychics.
God Bless!!

I do not see how experimenting with the abilities that God has given you would be going against anything religious. Psychic abilities are Not 'magic' or 'satanic' in any way, they are abilities that each of us have to some degree and are stronger in some than others. Did not Paul say that 'Your young men will dream dreams, your women will prophesy...', if that isn't an okay to have psychic power, I don't know what is! :)

This is a tough one for me personally because I am devout Catholic but met a very good psychic.
Psychics can be used as guides no more, no less. I think it becomes a sin when a psychic's advice take over your life. Meaning you base your decision and the way you run your life based on that advice.
We have to remember as Christians, that God is first and last in our lives. God gave us the greatest gift of LOVE and FREEDOM, therefore by allowing your life be dictated by a psychic's advice you are giving up one of God's greatest gift.

Only if they gain something by it. Perhaps they are really an angel. But the one who enables an unholy material/financial transaction has the greater sin. And as far as the psychic (or preacher, for that matter) is concerned:
Deu 18:20 But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.

Absolutely it would be going against Christianity. Anyone who tells you otherwise would not be going by the Bible. Psychics lie or channel Demons which, either way is not good. I suggest praying about your problem and being patient and waiting for God to answer.
Here is some more information
The bible says, "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the
fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts
spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these
things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your
God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the LORD your
God." (Deuteronomy 18:9-13)
Anyone who believes in the magic arts will not be blameless before God. God cannot
overlook these acts, for they are wicked.
"He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced sorcery and divination, and consulted
mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to
anger." (2 Kings 21:6)
When people practice magic arts, they are doing evil in the sight of God. When you do evil,
you provoke God to anger and He will pour out his wrath on you. You will not be
blessed, but you will be cursed.
All who practice magic arts will go to the lake of fire (HELL). This is what the bible calls
the second death. God will judge all the wicked on Judgment Day.
If you practice magic arts, you need to repent and turn from your wickedness. Then, God
will forgive you.

I hear plenty of Christians warn against psychics. But my opinion is that psychics are not against 'God', they get their ability from that source.

Yes, most people would say so. There are several verses in the Old Testament they would use, plus the account of Paul casting out the spirit from the woman who practiced divination.

You are only suppose to pray and have faith in God. But... I don´t know, I don´t think you´re going to bring down Christianity if you want to use a psychic.

Well Pharoh had Joseph, but Josephs Dream interpretations were gifts from god that helped Pharoh save his kingdom from drauoght and famine, and ultimately helped Joseph to forgive his brothers for selling him into slavery.
It's all in your intention. If in your heart is selfish pointless curiosity, then stay away from that situation.
Remeber Curiosity is, without eception a selfish emotion. Never entertain it.
